Farmhouse Kitchen in 1902 House

home decor, kitchen ideas December 13, 2021

Lately I’ve given some thought to my diet and feel a need to get back in the kitchen to cook healthy meals. I love the act of cooking, but I don’t like the time it sometimes takes. A well-organized kitchen makes meal prep more efficient, and I found a beautiful farmhouse kitchen in a 1902 house that fills the bill!  This beautiful kitchen and its photos are by Wengerkois Architecture + Build.

An industrial stove is a chef’s dream. This farmhouse kitchen has so many desirable elements. A custom range hood flanked by small windows adds character to this charming kitchen.

Wood beams lend a bit of rusticity in this mostly white kitchen. Shiplap walls and an apron sink reinforce its farmhouse appeal.

White Kitchen Cabinets and Dark Wood Floors

Custom cabinetry is beautiful in any kitchen, but it sometimes comes with a hefty price tag. If you can’t afford an entire kitchen with custom cabinets, consider having one standalone unit that becomes a focal point in the room.

A built-in banquette with a beautiful, wood table creates a cozy breakfast nook at the edge of the kitchen. I love the look of dark wood floors against light-colored walls and cabinets. It creates a bit of drama.

A cage-style pendant light gets a dose of whimsy with little clip-on birds.

On the other side of the farmhouse kitchen is a home office space. Glass-front cabinets add pretty storage space.

This kitchen has everything – including an adorable Dutch door leading out to the porch.

A pretty seating area takes up residence next to the breakfast nook. A convenient wine rack stands ready to serve.

Lots of stunning details in this farmhouse kitchen! Do you think white cabinets will ever go out of style?

ALL the white paint and the detail of the wood it is painted on.
The detail of the wood and trim, even in the hall, are WO N D E R F U L!
    Nothing better than WHITE paint.
YES, white cabinets will go away – the designers have to keep changing design.

Wow! What a kitchen this is. Not many of us will have anything close to this – or maybe in our dreams or on our Pinterest boards. To have a big kitchen, with breakfast nook AND a seating area – wow again. And I hope white cabinets remain a “thing” because I’ve just recently painted mine white. 🙂

I have thought about it, and, yes, I think I deserve that kitchen. I love everything about it. I wonder when I can move?

Love, love, love everything except the beams. No love here for old, raw wood.

This kitchen is beautiful and tasteful. I always dreamed of having a sitting area in the kitchen and I love the dining area too. I had white cabinets once and was not a fan, but it does brighten up the area. Any clue as to the square footage is of the entire area?

So much to like about this kitchen. Spacious, warm, pretty, full of storage and very efficient. Love the light with birds, so whimsical. I have always loved banquettes. The seating area is perfect for morning tea. I could live here quite happily. I am getting a little tired of all the open spaces these days and really like that this is a room of its own, but open and bright too.

Wow I would really like this kitchen and am sure the home is just as lovely. The owners are very lucky to have such a beautiful place to live. White cabinets will always be in style in my book.

I enjoy the warmth of wood that hasn’t been painted. We have a traditional kitchen, with cherry cabinets, and get lots of compliments on those beautiful cupboards. I think that everyone should be able to enjoy whatever design and finishings they love! This kitchen appears to fit beautifully with the style of this house.
