Farmhouses and Palaces: Friday Finds #76

friday finds December 3, 2021

Twenty-two more days until Christmas, but who’s counting? I am, because I need to get my shopping done, pronto! This weekend I’m heading to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for a girls’ trip, so maybe I can get most of it done while I’m there.

I’m headed north with my daughter and her daughter, Zoe. Lake Geneva is just an hour’s drive away and the weather is supposed to be mild so it should be perfect for shopping and sight-seeing. It’ll be nice to get away and unwind. But for now, let’s check out this week’s treasures.

This week’s Friday Finds:

First up and very worthy of your attention is a renovated 1850s farmhouse in Westchester, New York. The wide plank floors are to-die-for, but you’ll especially get a kick out of the footed shower. I’ve never seen one like it and now I want one!

Speaking of showering, you don’t want to miss the transformation of this nautical inspired bathroom with the most beautiful blue subway tile.

Moving onto another room, you’ll love this farmhouse kitchen with a checkerboard floor all decorated for Christmas.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always wanted to make a pear cake. You know, the kind where you insert full pears into the cake itself. This pear-cardamom cake recipe is made by a chef named Zoe, which is also my granddaughter’s name, so I think I need to bake this cake before Christmas.

My favorite European blogger shares how to make the sweetest Christmas angels, and it actually doesn’t seem that difficult to do.

Let’s end today’s list with something grand. Everyone loves a palace, right? It creates a feeling of wonder, fantasy and romance. Take a moment to dream and enjoy this collection of 15 of the most beautiful palaces in the world!

The 1850 house tour was so grand and love all they have done. That nautical bathroom tile was pretty, and all the rest, you always find the best for a great relaxing time.
