My Favorite Halloween Decorating Posts

Over the years I’ve created what I think is pretty cool Halloween decorating projects. What I don’t like is that some of these earlier posts tend to get buried, never to be resurrected again. So today I’m changing that and sharing some of my favorite spooky and creepy Halloween posts from the blog!

My All Hallow’s Eve post from 2012 is about luxuriating in a candle-lit bath. It was my first blog post about the spooky celebration. I had recently purchased a “big girl” camera and was experimenting with light and dark photos.

In 2013 I decorated a corner of the kitchen, even going so far as to drag in a bale of hay. That was back when I loved making banners and garlands – like the crumpled book page garland.

The year after that I featured a Halloween table setting using orange habanero peppers that hubby grew out in the garden.

When I shared how to make vintage-looking Halloween treat bags, I experimented with an all-black background. All I did was tape a piece of black wrapping paper to the wall and let it drape over the table.

One of my favorite Halloween decorating projects are these cute little baby boo pumpkins dressed for the season. Click here to see how easy they are to create.

Two years ago I went all out and decorated the inside of the house for Halloween. I have to admit, it was a lot of fun! I still have the skeletons but they’ll be going outside this year.

Last year I added black houses to my Halloween mantel and added some cute ghost lights. I ended up giving those decorations away to my daughters. They’re always happy when I get new seasonal decor because it means they get the hand-me-downs from the previous season.

My all-time favorite Halloween decorating project was five years ago when I made starched cheese cloth ghosts that I had seen featured in Country Living magazine. I’ll be making a few more of these this year for the front porch!
