Fire Pit Landscaping Ideas
This past Saturday my hubby and I attended an outdoor party at his boss’ house and the backyard had two different fire elements which made the evening super cozy. So now of course I’m on the hunt for fire pit landscaping ideas for my own yard. Here’s a few you’re sure to enjoy!

Whether you have a built-in fire pit like the one above, or a freestanding unit like the one below, adding a fire pit to your yard is a great way to enjoy the outdoors for a longer period of time.
I love this copper looking pit snuggled between Adirondack chairs (which are my favorite outdoor seating options). You’ll be amazed how warm the fire will keep you.
Our fire pit is out in the yard not far from the house, much like this one. Hubby has to move the chairs whenever he mows the lawn so the goal is to dig out the grass and install a circular gravel patio. We just planted 7 evergreen trees to block the fire pit area from the neighbors so we have added privacy.
I like the unique positioning of this fire element. And if you look carefully you’ll notice a small waterfall behind it.
I absolutely love this pit with its use of big boulders and flames coming out of the gravel. This one is obviously powered with propane or a gas line.

If you have a large patio, consider a large fire element. And if you don’t like handling wood and ashes, then opt for something with a gas line that you can easily switch on and off.
There are so many options for standalone units, whether you need large or small. When not in use, you could add a round tabletop to this fire bowl and use it as a coffee table.
Garden centers offer a variety of fire options for patios, decks, or the middle of your yard. Simply add comfy seating and a few plantings and you’re good to go.
Here’s a popular Fire Fountain that we sell at Aquascape where I work. I need to add one to my deck and have hubby make a cover for it so we can also use it as a coffee table.

They are a nice feature and it is a hard decision to pick just one!
I really like the brick-lined ones and the stone-lined ones. They give off an entirely different feel than the others, like they picked the safest option possible for a fire pit.
I have two propane fire tables in my back yard and another propane fire table on the patio in my front yard. I fill them with decorative glass beads and bought glass surrounds for the fire tables b/c I love the effect of the flames flickering off the glass. When choosing a fire table I suggest you look for tables that have a little surround to hold glasses and plates, and I HIGHLY recommend using a table that will hold a propane tank, inside the unit out of sight. Propane makes it much easier to use your fire table all year-round and where there’s no wood, there’s no messy clean up.
