Fixer Uppers and Baked Donuts: Friday Finds #105

Fall is in full swing with its riotous colors and crisp days. I don’t know of a single person who doesn’t love this season. Before you head out for leaf peeping this weekend, enjoy some of this week’s Friday Finds! From fixer-uppers to home details to baked donuts, what’s not to love?

Let’s kick off the weekend with this amazing before/after renovation of a Victorian home. There’s plenty of pictures to give you a true idea of the extent of this makeover.

Stained wood is really coming back in fashion and this collection of wooden front doors will leave you wanting to strip your own door of its paint.

I’ve been thinking of adding a built-in bookcase somewhere in my house because I love the look of it. This roundup of bookcases from House Beautiful is getting my creative juices flowing. See which idea you like best.

Get ready to swoon when you lay eyes on this HGTV farmhouse fixer-upper. It has a stunning European country vibe and I’m totally in love with the l-shaped cutting board in the kitchen!

It’s not too late to take a fall leaf-peeping trip. Colors are just starting to peak here in the Chicago ‘burbs. Check out this list of the best towns in the U.S. to experience autumn. Maybe there’s one near you! Hubby and I have planned a leaf peeping trip for next weekend. More on that in tomorrow’s blog post.

It wouldn’t be fall without donuts! See how to make baked (not fried) cinnamon sugar donuts. You’ll want to enjoy one with your morning coffee this weekend (and every day thereafter).

  2. Love both the Victorian renovation and the farmhouse fixer-upper. What a lot of work had to go into that Victorian reno, but the after is wonderful. My eye was also caught by that interesting cutting board in the farmhouse fixer-upper.
