The alarm goes off at 6:00 and it’s dark out. Just a few weeks ago it was still light outside. This time of year creates a cozy vibe when people don sweaters, cuddle up under blankets, and enjoy comfort foods like soup and baked goods.
Earlier this week I made my favorite Italian Vegetable Soup. Its flavor reminds me of chicken noodle soup which I don’t eat because I’m vegetarian. But the comforting effect is still the same.
I always think of this time of year as soup season – but it’s also color season. Not only for the changing color of the leaves, but because paint companies and Pantone name their colors of the year (more on that below). It’s also when we start thinking of sprucing up our indoor spaces after spending so much time inside. Color choice a big part of those new decorating decisions.
Enough of the chit chat, let’s get on with some of the exciting things that were stumbled across this week!
List of Friday Finds:
My fellow blogger Angie, at Postcards of the Ridge, started a new butter mold collection and she arranged it with her white ironstone. It all looks so beautiful in her fall hutch.
Do you like using bittersweet in your decor? I sure do. I’m craving the color orange this past year. Not sure why, but I loved this collection of ideas for decorating with bittersweet.
Every Thursday I feature a kitchen of the week, and you’d think that’d be plenty to satisfy my love of kitchens, but you’ve got to check out this gorgeous English kitchen. It has such an earthy vibe!
This week two paint companies revealed their “colors of the year” for 2021. Check them out and let me know which color you prefer – Benjamin Moore’s color of the year, or the color chosen by Sherwin Williams.
If cooking is on your list of things to do this weekend, try this yummy butternut squash chili with quinoa. I shared it a couple years ago and I love it because it’s such a healthy option – not to mention it tastes good.
Enjoy your weekend – hope your weather is wonderful!
