Friday Finds #39: Anticipating Spring

February is on its way out as March comes in like a lamb. At least, that’s what the weatherman is predicting. A mild start to the month which hopefully means March doesn’t go out like a lion. Do you remember that old wives’ tale?

So – I did something unexpected this week. I joined Noom! It’s a diet app that helps you meet your health and fitness goals by exploring the psychology behind why you might make poor choices with nutrition.

I have to admit I was skeptical. You see Noom commercials everywhere – television, social media, digital ads, you name it. So I clicked on their link out of curiosity and the next thing I know I had signed up for a membership. LOL. Maybe I’ll be in good shape in time for our trip to Chattanooga this spring.

Immediately I felt like I shouldn’t have joined Noom. I wasn’t ready to commit to making healthy changes. But since I was trigger happy and signed up, I might as well give it a try, right? And guess what? I love it! You record what you eat and log any exercise you do. They provide a series of very short articles and quizzes to help educate you and pick your brain. That’s the psychological part. Noom even customizes your program specifically for you.

But that’s not all. You get your own fitness coach who checks in with you on a regular basis. I’m on day six now, so we’ll see if I’m just as excited on day thirty. And no, this isn’t a promotion for Noom – I’m just really impressed with the design and details of the program. They provide recipes too. I’m feeling healthier already.

Enough about me. Let’s get on with this week’s Friday Finds!

Have you ever thought about creating a gallery wall up your staircase but were intimidated to tackle the task? Check out this article to help you decorate your staircase wall with art and photos.

Looking for something fun to do for Easter? Don’t miss these Easter crafts from Country Living magazine (be forewarned – there are 70 of them).

Did you know you can plant lilies in either the fall or spring? I have beautiful Oriental lilies out by the vegetable garden and they’re so beautiful. I planted them close to the sidewalk so passers-by could enjoy them too. See Eden Brothers’ tips for planting these beauties.

Do you love the color green? Even if it’s not your favorite, you don’t want to miss this beautiful 12th century chateau that got a full renovation and a bit of green decor in the process.

And finally, how about a crostini party? I love this idea from Honestly Yum – it’s simple, tasty, and festive!

Enjoy your weekend and the upcoming week. It’s going to be in the 40s most of the week!
