Friday Finds #57: Outdoor Inspiration

We’ve had a week of rain and now the mosquitoes are out and about. It also means the frogs in the pond are singing. They always seem to break into chorus after a heavy rain. Next week is looking to be dry and sunny and I can’t wait to get back to sunshine! In the meantime, I’ve got some outdoor inspiration for you, along with a beautiful home tour.

Friday Finds for You:

Let’s start off with this absolutely gorgeous and comfortable Nantucket home tour. The white and walnut in the kitchen is so pretty and inviting.

Get an eyeful of this amazing backyard makeover! I love the big ruffled umbrella and addition of the outdoor fireplace. What a great place to gather.

While we’re talking about outdoor spaces, let’s talk trees! Flowering trees, to be exact. Here’s a list of flowering trees you might want to consider adding to your landscape. Trees are so beneficial to the environment, you can’t go wrong planting another tree!

Have you ever dreamt of having your own greenhouse? Check out these inspirational she shed greenhouses!

This might seem like a weird Friday Find, but I came across this breezy curtain panel with pom pom trim that I just adore. It’s not too pricey, but it would be super easy to make. So, that’s what I’m going to do and the I’ll share the tutorial in an upcoming blog post!

  1. Thank you for the fun sites to explore!
I’m sure that you are sick of the rain but out here in the West, we would love some! In Southern California, we have not had rain for many months and it is so dry. I hope you have nice weather next week!

    1. Hi Hilary! I don’t want to sound like a fanatic, crazy person but here’s something that is tried and true.
Go outside, lift your hands to the sky and pray for the Lord to send rain. I’ll agree with your prayer. Matthew 18:19

  2. How do you know exactly what I need information on each week?!! We will be replacing 5 Nandina bushes (6-7′ tall) in the Fall and your post on flowering trees has saved me some time in investigating replacements. Also, can’t wait to see what you do with the Pom Pom curtains. I know it will be cute.
