Friday Finds #66: Last Week of Summer

Today marks the final full week of summer in 2021, but one thing I’ve noticed over the last several years is that summer weather is extending further into the fall season. This is great for someone like me who craves warmer temperatures, although I do enjoy the cooler mornings and evenings of autumn.

Here in the Midwest it’s time for apple-picking, farmer’s markets, outdoor art festivals and concerts, leaf-peeping walks, and enjoying weekend getaways. There’s plenty to do in the heart of our country and if you’d like to learn more, I highly recommend a subscription to Midwest Living magazine. It’s one of my favorites!

Next weekend I’m headed back to Madison, Wisconsin for the art festival on the capitol square. I also want to take some time to explore the historic neighborhoods and the popular botanical garden. Plus I need to revisit Colectivo Coffee for some of their amazing oatmeal and beverages.

Are you ready for this week’s Friday Finds? Here they are …

First up is this adorable autumn wreath from The HoneyComb Home. She made it with tiny terra cotta garden pots. So cute!!

Next is this beautiful fall mantel from Joanna Anastasia. She did a great job grouping vintage decor atop her mantel with bullseye trim. At the end of her posts are links to more fall mantels.

Now for something entirely different, check out this aluminum, modular home that can be built in just 45 days! Even if you’re not a fan of its modern style, you can still appreciate the creativity that went into it.

Something else that falls under “something different” is the Met Gala event. Is anyone a fan of red carpet fashion? I especially love the Met Gala outfits because they’re so unique and many are a bit over the top.

Let’s end with a post about mixing dining chairs and tables. Apparently I made the mistake of buying a dining room set. LOL. To each her own, but I have to admit I do like an eclectic dining room sans matched dining set. How about you?

Enjoy your weekend! I hope you find a little time to pamper yourself!
