Now that Halloween is over we have officially entered holiday party planning season. I love the holidays, planning parties, visiting friends and family, and eating all that yummy party food!  But I don’t like the feeling I get after eating heavy foods or simply eating too much. No matter what the event, I always try to include smarter treats that are better choices for partying and snacking.

Holiday Party Planning with Smarter TreatsToday I’m sharing a favorite party appetizer along with helpful party planning tips!

Holiday Party Planning with Smarter TreatsFor today’s party planning, one of the treats I’m including is mini pizza appetizers created with Sandwich Thins from Weight Watchers®. They’re perfect to use as a mini pizza crust!  I’m also using a silver and gold theme which is great color combination for a variety of party events.

Bread Aisle at WalmartMy first party tip is to create your menu and identify items you need to purchase. Write your list to avoid having to rely on memory. I found Weight Watchers Sandwich Thins in the bread aisle at our local Walmart.

Weight Watchers Pizza Appetizers #sponsoredSandwich Thins are pre-sliced. Separate them and lay them face down. Coat each slice with pizza sauce, add your cheese and toppings. I’m a vegetarian so I made green pepper and mushroom pizza appetizers (recipe is at end of post).

Weight Watchers Pizza AppetizersBake the pizza appetizers in a 425 degree oven for about 7 minutes. Remove, cut in half and arrange on a serving tray.  What’s great about this appetizer is you can easily make more in a matter of minutes if you run out. One full pizza appetizer is 3 Weight Watchers points!

Fresh Seckle PearsDiminuitive seckel pears are a great addition to any party if you want to serve fruit. They’re small and super sweet! Plus I love their golden color which contains just a bit of blush.

Fresh Seckle PearsIf you’re like me, you enjoy a little cheese with your fruit. I cut Weight Watchers string cheese into smaller pieces to serve with the pears.

Holiday Party Planning TipsFor my silver and gold party, I pulled out my pretty gold flatware.

Holiday Party Planning TipsI also found these pretty glasses that look like they’ve been dipped in gold.

Another party planning tip is to use decorative Kraft paper or wrapping paper in lieu of a tablecloth. Tablecloths can get stained from spills, but if you use Kraft paper you can just toss it and not worry about stains.

I hope you’ll find my party planning tips helpful as you navigate the holiday season!

  1. Definitely downloading the party plan tips since I’m planning a few parties this holiday season. I love the gold and silver theme because it goes with everything. #client

  2. Those party appetizers look delicious. It is hard to believe they are diet friendly and sensible because they look pretty indulgent. I haven’t tried the Weight Watchers thins but it seems just the thing for those little pizzas!
