How to Paint a Pillow and a Giveaway!

Promise me you won’t laugh but … one of the toughest decorating decisions for me is selecting pillows!  You would think it’d be easy. Pick a color in a pattern that you like and you’re done, right? That’s exactly my problem though. I love so many colors and my rooms are pretty neutral that I can add any color and be okay. And then when I do finally decide on a color, I can’t find a pattern that I like in that color. Sigh. So when I found out about Paint-a-Pillow I realized it’s the perfect solution to my dilemma! I can choose from a variety of patterns and then I can choose the color too! All that’s left to do is paint the pillow and let me tell you, it was really easy to do! (The giveaway info is at the end of the post.)

I love the colors and I love the pattern. Painting them was the easy part.

Stenciled Pillows from Paint-a-PillowThe hard part was narrowing down the decision because I like so many of the patterns. From nature inspired to modern to country style and more.

Paint-a-Pillow KitMy pillow kit with 2 pillows came in this beautiful box that even has a handle!

Paint-a-Pillow Kit comes with down pillow inserts, pillow covers, stencil and paints.Inside were 2 down pillow inserts (not in this photo), pillow covers, a stenciling frame, and the paints which were in the nifty accessory box.  The packaging itself impressed me!

How to stencil a pillow with the Paint-a-Pillow kitPaint-a-Pillow has this stenciling frame that keeps the stencil in place over the pillow cover while painting. You can use either the roller or the stencil brush. I found the stencil brush to work better for this pattern which has smaller cut-outs.

Stenciled pillows in a peacock feather patternAfter painting, let the pillows dry and then insert the pillow forms. I’ve included a video at the end of this post that shows you exactly how to stencil the pillows.

See how to stencil pillows using a kit!I ended up choosing the peacock feather pattern because I wanted to bring in a bird theme for spring.
