White walls accentuate the woods and modern neural decor. I’ve always been a huge fan of white and natural wood together.

I wish every vaulted ceiling was flanked with natural wood. The wood treatment creates a cozy feeling in the living room with its floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

Modern neutral decor and a wood ceiling continue into the family room. My eye was drawn to the artwork above the mantel that features a whirling dervish. I’ve always been amazed at this spiritual dance and find it quite mesmerizing.

  1. Are we witnessing the evolution of a neutral gal to a color/natural wood gal? 😜 It was rather refreshing seeing an unpainted/natural brick fireplace! I LOVE all white/neutral spaces but also love and appreciate how patinaed wooden decor seems to “center” us. Thanks for always offering us beautiful varieties.

    1. Hi Deb! Yes, my tastes are definitely changing. I should do a blog post about the evolution of style (my first home was decorated with an Asian theme). I think you termed it correctly when you said the wooden decor “centers” us. That’s exactly the feeling I get from it!

  2. This appears to be a comfortable and livable home, although due to its contemporary feel, I would have chosen something other than brick for the fireplaces. I used to believe that brick should, in all instances, remain natural, but I do longer subscribe to that. I too enjoy the light neutral walls with light to medium wood accents and wish I could re-do my entire home accordingly. Sigh…..

    1. Hi Pat – I agree – the wood and light walls is so captivating, in my opinion. I wish I had more natural wood pieces in my home. For now, I’ll just have to enjoy the look in photos of other people’s houses! 🙂

  3. Gorgeous naturally designed home. Wouldn’t mind having that home on land we had in MT, would be perfect there.

    Happy week

  4. I am not a modern decor kind of person but, the fireplace, floors, and ceiling were truly beautiful.

  5. So pretty- I love the white and wood together too. And, when I looked on Houzz for more details, I found out that it is in my town! I always love to look at the homes you feature on Sundays. 🙂

  6. Love this one. Another well done design! I’m glad I didn’t paint all my pine pieces when that became a fad. The combination of contemporary with the other decor is terrific.
