More Christmas in the Kitchen

Are you ready for Christmas? All my shopping is done but I still need to wrap presents. For me, the joy of Christmas consists mostly of the festivities leading up to Christmas Day. Decorating, cooking, shopping for others – and of course, remembering the blessed birth of Jesus. I thought I was done decorating but I added a few more touches of Christmas in the kitchen.

I made a wreath for the wall and tied together some greens for the back door.

The little shelf will soon be replaced with more expansive shelving for the entire wall. For now, it’s adorned with simple fabric stars strung up with burlap.

This half cupboard was attached to the wall when we moved here. It was in an awkward, head-injuring location so I took it down and set it on the floor.

Finally I found a rustic kitchen scale after months of searching for the right one at the right price.

This little basket was given a coat of white wash and then stuffed with greens and vintage ornaments.

Hubby made biscuits and I got to break out my new, French egg cups.

I love having a peaceful, homemade breakfast on Christmas morning. During the stillness of the morning, we can reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of God’s only begotten Son for the salvation of the world.

  1. So pretty! Funny! I had my son pick up our very heavy tree to put in my galvanized wash tub…. it wouldn’t fit 🙁 I hope to plan a little better next year. I love love your scale! I look forward to seeing your new shelf go up! Have a Merry Christmas!

  2. I’m pretty sure I still have two small fake trees in my Christmas storage bins and I know I have a wine cooler that could pass for a galvanized tub. I’m putting this on my Pinterest page for next year.
