My Bathing Beauty

Slow but sure, room by room, my house is undergoing a transformation of sorts. Not a full-fledged remodeling assault … just a simple sprucing up. A fresh coat of paint here, a new rug there. Hubby is rolling his eyes thinking, “here we go again.” And so, without further ado …

Hubby installed the molding (love him!).
I painted the upper walls in Linen, the bottom wears Simply White.
Thankfully the old toilet still functions.
I love its charm … if a toilet can be considered charming.

But the real love of my bathroom life is the clawfoot tub.
The tub was pretty much the clincher in the decision to buy the house.
The ceramic floor was recently installed by my new son-in-law.
Hubby added the shelf when he installed the molding.
The iron mirror was a Christmas gift from hubby a couple years ago.
The filmy curtain was just $4.99 at Ikea … called Lill.
The marbling effect on the clawfoot is a faux paint finish … by a local artist who’s a friend of a friend.
This cabinet was actually 2 separate roadside pieces, found on different days.
It occured to me to stack them one atop the other.
We changed out the hardware, added decorative trim and beadboard,
and then brushed on a coat of Paris Grey ASCP.
Of course, it’s not a photo shoot without a furry friend. Say hello to Patches.
She only has one eye due to an accident, but she sees just fine.
Here’s the other side of the bathroom.
More Paris Grey Annie Sloan Chalk Paint on a stock bathroom cabinet.
And now after all that work I think it’s time for a relaxing soak in a bubble bath!
