My Simple Valentine’s Day Vignette

Valentine’s Day isn’t just the holiday of love … it’s the holiday of pink! Pink is the color of nurturing, compassion, and unconditional love. It’s always been a favorite of mine and I love using it in a simple Valentine’s Day vignette. Today I’m joining fellow bloggers for a Valentine’s hop. You’ll find their blogs at the end of the post.

Simple Valentine's Day VignetteFor my vignette, I created simple wall art and brought in some roses.

Simple Valentine's Day VignetteWhen creating my simple Valentine’s Day vignette, I started with the wall.

How to create a Valentine's Day VignetteI used the frame from my DIY Santa picture I had on this wall at Christmas.

A painted frame and book pages creates the backdrop for custom wall art. Then I glued old sheet music together to create one large piece to fit inside the frame.

I simply taped it on the wall with a bit of the wall showing at the edges.

Shabby White Vintage MirrorI hung my white shabby mirror over the sheet music using a nail. I’ll have to patch that hole when the Valentine’s display comes down … or simply hang something over the hole.

Paper Heart Banner hangs above a vintage shabby mirrorThe other day I made a paper heart banner to drape from the frame.

Paper Heart Banner with Shabby Chic Frame and MirrorI suppose I could just change the banner once Valentine’s Day is over.

  1. Love your Valentine’s vignette.

I haven’t decided if I will do a Valentine mantel. So far I just have a wire basket filled with different hearts sitting on a chair.

  2. Every Valentine post I do something on the line of romance, poetry, or kisses.
And not a mantle but somewhere of inspiring uncommon place in my home that ends up feeling romantics…. Be it on the surface of a French chest of drawers.
Your inspiration is lovely, heartfelt, and oh so romantic.

  4. Ohh my goodness!! Everything looks so sweet. I especially love the framed sheet music. There are lots of musicians in my family so I just might borrow that amazing idea at some point!!!
