New Berkshire Farmhouse: After the Fire

After a tragic fire, a family found themselves rebuilding a new house on their old home’s existing foundation. The result is a gorgeous Berkshire farmhouse by Jess Cooney Interiors that has a slightly worn and timeless appeal.

Wide plank floors made of reclaimed wood in the kitchen are matched overhead with wooden ceiling beams. in the kitchen. Walls of windows allow for scenic Massachusetts views.

Softly patterned drapes add a bit of femininity to the dining space in the Berkshire farmhouse with its heavy wooden table and simple chandelier.

You’ll find ample windows throughout the home, which is a feature I always love in any house. Simple furnishings create a clean, uncluttered look.

A second fireplace is made of stone from floor to ceiling, with a rustic wooden beam used as a mantel.

Great use of space is made throughout the home, like this built-in office and shelving area.

A beautiful white and wood staircase winds its way to the second floor. The homeowners opted for plaster walls throughout the house.

I love the soft wallpaper in the master bathroom. It’s unexpected but pretty. The iron bed is just beyond in the bedroom.

Darker blue walls create a cozy sleeping place for a pair of twin metal beds.

A screened porch provides a place to enjoy the outdoors without the pesky bugs getting in your food. A ceiling fan creates summer breezes when the wind isn’t blowing.

  1. Oh my! Could it be any more light and airy, or more welcoming and comfortable? Who wouldn’t want to live there? And of course the screened porch I’ve always dreamed of. Lovely.

  2. Lovely home and so very peaceful, i would imagine a fire would change anyone’s way of living. They did a wonderful job.

  3. We’ve had about 6 fires due to lightening near our home in the past few years. I get my bags packed and ready when there is a storm near by.
This house is just beautiful! What a great re-do!
