New Greek Revival Farmhouse in the Berkshire Mountains

The architecture of today’s Greek revival farmhouse by Doyle Coffin Architecture looks like it could be years old, but this home in the Berkshire Mountains is actually new construction. Antique furnishings throughout the house emphasize the feel of days gone by.

The expansive homestead features a barn and cupola; the entire scene is idyllic. The numerous windows provide spectacular views of the Berkshires from every direction.

When you step through the front door, you’re immediately greeted by a view of the mountains through the double doors at the back of the hall. A carved newel posts looks like its years old. Gorgeous crown molding on 10-foot ceilings is the style you find in older homes. It’s hard to believe this home is new construction.

The kitchen appears aged with rough hewn beams running along the ceilings and walls. Shaker style cabinets are painted a pale gray. Windows over the kitchen sink frame views of the Berkshires in the background.

Wallpaper creates a cozy dining room with a vintage table and chairs. Colonial style pendant lights are seen throughout the Greek revival farmhouse.

Upholstered furniture provides a comfortable space for relaxing. Although the house is quite grand, the interior spaces feel lived-in and not at all stuffy.

The screened porch is large enough for entertaining with a big farmhouse table and plenty of seating for conversation. A fireplace adds warmth on cool evenings. You can’t deny the beauty of the landscape seen from every vantage point.

A collection of vintage hand mirrors decorates the paneled walls in one of the bathrooms. Plantation shutters create privacy when needed while bathing in the freestanding bathtub.

Another bathroom shows a vintage writing desk turned into a vanity.

A pair of layered beds enjoy bird prints and a trio of mirrors on the wall above. A vintage light fixture adds a little age to the sunny guest room.

  1. Particularly liked the dining room and the master bedroom, which I found through the link. Do you think this is a working farm? Maybe horses. It looks so clean compared to the small farm on which I grew up and others in the area!

  2. What an absolutely beautiful homestead! That area is beautiful. I love the wallpaper in the dining room. Oh, to dream haha. Happy Spring!

    1. Have you seen the 38 Pixley Hill Rd. In Stockbrige/West Stockbridge, Mass listing? Not quite so full of stuff but whoever did that really knows their stuff…the finish carpentry there is even another level above and the custom kitchen they have is just priceless…
