New York Colonial: Charming Home Tour
We’re traveling to the great state of New York for this week’s charming home tour! When I started this home tour series over 2 years ago, I never thought the series would last this long. I thought eventually I’d run out of houses to feature but I’m happy that there are so many creative people out there that there seems to be no shortage of supply of beautiful homes!  Today’s New York Colonial  has simple style with the color white running through each room. It’s a classic home with timeless appeal. (All photos by Sarah Seung-McFarland.)

Wide plank wood floors greet you in the living room with its clean white walls and slip-covered furniture. A traditional oriental rug adds a bit of rich color to the well-lit space.
When viewed up-close, you can see the detailing on the fireplace. French doors lead to the sunroom.
Wrap-around mullioned windows let ample light flood into the sunroom that serves as a simple office.
White walls and wood floors continue into the dining room with its simple chandelier and farmhouse table and chairs.
Another oriental rug makes an appearance in the kitchen with its painted cabinets and a simple pendant light. An unexpected oil portrait hangs above the farmhouse breakfast table.
A beautiful staircase greets you at the front door. I love two-toned stairways (my own staircase has brown treads and white risers like this one). Â The natural fabric rugs create an earthy feel in the foyer.
Upstairs, shabby chic style winds its way into one of several bedrooms. Beautiful bedding on the white iron bed makes you want to crawl right in and take a nap. I think I would leave the curtains open at night to enjoy the moonlight streaming in.
Back downstairs, an airy porch provides additional dining space and a place to unwind and relax at the end of the day or on weekends. I love all the windows this house offers in every room!
You can see more of this 1908 vine-covered New York Colonial at Houzz.

Another enjoyable tour. I love all of the windows, making the house so light and airy.
Love the windows. It would be a showstopper (to me) if it had more color, esp on the walls.
I am no fan of all this white on white on white, sorry.
A great light and bright place to live and enjoy. Thanks for this wonderful tour.
Beautiful tour!…Love the beautiful space and great light…
It really is a beautiful home. I think a touch of color might have made it a little warmer, but still, very nice.
