Old House Makeover and More: Friday Finds #80

Happy First Friday of 2022! I hope that this week’s Friday Finds helps to lift your spirits and give you a little boost. Lots of people are sick right now, and that’s no fun. Don’t feel guilty about slowing down and giving yourself a bit of a break from life. It’s good to re-group and get rest so your body can fight to stay healthy. Not to mention it helps your mental health, too!

Wooden staircase in an older home

Let’s start today with a gorgeous home makeover. The architecture is amazing and you’ll be surprised at the beauty of the old staircase that was bleached to give it new life! Each room is more beautiful than the next.

Next up are beautiful details in a cozy kitchen. Not only are the pictures stunning, but tips are given on the types of details to focus on when decorating.

With snow having fallen on most of our country this week, I thought you might enjoy this garden tour in Upstate New York.

It’s interesting and fun to see how people on the other side of the world live. With that in mind, I’m sharing this cozy getaway in Tasmania. It’s not a country I ever thought I’d visit, but this charming home is making me think otherwise.

Speaking of travel, here are 12 reasons to visit the U.K. Maybe you’ve already been there and have experienced some of the things on this list. Enjoying British tea would be a fun thing to do!

If you’re snowed in this weekend or are laying low due to the virus, you might want to spend your Saturday or Sunday making these sticky buns with pecans. They are so, so good!

Stay tuned for tomorrow when I share a decorating trend in the bedroom. And of course, there will be another amazing home tour to enjoy on Sunday!

  1. The Giannettis made short work of all those primary colors in that redo. Yea!

I also love that little al fresco dining area.

  2. Lots of dreamy beautiful pictures, I loved looking at that first home redo and kitchen and then eating sticky buns, yum!

  3. Hello Jennifer, I’m loving the house in beautiful Tasmania. It is a pretty home in a perfect setting. Many people are unaware that not all of our country is tropical/sub tropical and that we have beautiful cool climate areas as well. Many Australians escape to Tassie for a cool change. Thanks for featuring.

  4. That home and the makeover was just beautiful! I love some of the furnishings, especially the Swedish ones lol. I love how it kept it’s same grand style but an updated version.

  5. I thoroughly enjoy your posts, but I have one request: Can you make the print darker and even a wee bit larger? That very pale grey, rather tiny font is difficult to read for those of us who are seniors and/or whose vision is not perfect. Yes, I can enlarge it, but that crops pictures, it’s still very pale, and it’s frankly a nuisance. Sometimes I just look at the pictures and don’t bother to read, which is rather an insult to your hard work.
