Outdoor Fall Decorating Ideas to Inspire You!

Our fall foliage the past week has been so beautiful! I keep saying I’m gonna get out and take some photos but the days are whizzing by and I’ve been a bit busy working on blog stuff. I’ll let you in on a little secret … I’ve decided to start a second blog about something I enjoy.  I’ll give you more details the closer I get to hatching that plan!  Since I haven’t gotten outside for a fall photo shoot, I decided to cruise through Houzz again for outdoor fall decorating ideas to inspire you!

I love this simple blue house that proves fall decorating doesn’t have to be fussy to be pretty. A collection of pumpkins join potted mums on the porch. Colorful pillows add a few more pops of color for curb appeal.

Speaking of potted mums, why not get them up off the ground and suspend them from the porch ceiling? This is such a cute porch and I have to add that Rikki Snyder is probably my favorite photographer featured at Houzz!

I love front doors that contain a full-length mullioned window like this one!  A fresh twist on fall decorating for the porch includes the use of fresh green corn stalks as opposed to dried ones.

If you’re the ambitious type, you might want to consider painting your front door a bold color for fall. This red-orange door packs a fun punch and looks great with a fall foliage wreath and garland.

Over-sized gourds provide a powerful impact in front of a brown clapboard house. Mums nestled in between add pleasing color. This is an easy display that’s fun and appealing.

Outdoor fall decorating can be a simple as placing mums in a pretty basket. Hide the flower pots by tucking a layer of Spanish moss on top.

If you’re a minimalist, you’ll love this plain yet pretty farmhouse porch. A couple of small pumpkins on the stoop are the only fall adornments. The neighboring trees cloaked in autumn color add enough beauty to the scene.

Fall flowers fill a window box framed by pretty red shutters. I’ve never swapped out summer flowers for fall ones in my flower boxes, but this photo leaves me feeling like I should.

If you’ve got room on your front porch for a wagon filled with hay and pumpkins, just do it! This gorgeous home is a knock-out without any outdoor fall decorating, but the wagon and pumpkins are just the right touch.

Pumpkins and mums stand at attention on a cozy table on this farmhouse porch. A simple fall wreath greets visitors at the front door. Love this look!

I’ve often thought of adding an old cart to our yard and swapping out seasonal decorations in it. Our neighbors have a huge vintage wagon in their side yard and it’s beautiful.

I’ll leave you with this final photo to inspire you with outdoor fall decorating ideas. A lone pumpkin is flanked by twin wreaths at the front entrance of this beautiful historic home.  Now that I’ve been energized with pretty fall photos, I’m more motivated to get out and take some photos of our fall colors and historic homes decorated for the season!  Here’s hoping I find the time to do it!
