The brick surround in the above fireplace is given a lighter touch with a whitewash effect on the brick. A white painted mantel defines the space and provides a ledge for displaying pretty objects.

Don’t have a fireplace? No worries. Build a brick surround inside a romantic white mantel and fill it with candles. This is so soft and pretty and I can only imagine what the rest of the home looks like!

A pale gray, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace mimics the architectural structure of the adjacent window and helps to balance the room. Such a beautiful space!

You can also fill a faux fireplace surround and mantel with white birch logs. Birch logs are expensive so I grab fallen branches from the yard and give them a dry brush effect with white paint.

  1. Great choices, but I’m going with the romantic bricked faux fireplace with the candles. I’m really close to pulling the trigger on a logged electric fireplace in our guest room. That is if I can find one that looks realistic. What guest wouldn’t enjoy a fireplace in their room, right?

  2. The white fireplaces look so clean and really brighten up the whole lot. I have very little light that reflects on my brick fireplace and would like to do this effect. What type of paint was used for the white wash? Can you help me with this information. Thank You
