Pretty in Pink

Would you live in a pink house? Our circa 1875 Victorian-style farmhouse was pink when we first moved in 15 years ago. And although I didn’t mind since pink is my favorite color, we’ve since painted it a buttery yellow. I’m editing some photos of its exterior and hope to post them soon. For now, I’m giving a nod to our home’s history by celebrating pink houses.

What a darling home! From the pink clapboard to the white accents, this home has “quaint” written all over it.
I’m lovin’ the details like the horse-tying post, picket fence and graceful arbor.

Ah! The quintessential bungalow. Our first home was a Sears Catalog bungalow from 1925
and it’s always been one of my favorites. I’ve always adored this type of architecture.

Some houses were meant to wear a certain color, and pink is this home’s match made in heaven.
This one is my favorite. I love the arched front door and sidelights. Mm, mm, mmm!
Sweet and simple. Even a small cottage can dream of being a painted lady.

Did I already say I had a favorite? I may have to change my mind about that because this
bucolic setting is calling my name!

All dressed up for the holidays! Our house has a metal roof just like this one which is just one of its many charms
(I also found out it’s fun to slide down metal roofs!).
Could a pink house be any cuter? Lovin’ the row of windows perched above the fence that’s
dotted with stately sunflowers. Wish I could take a walk around this neighborhood.

It’s Friday night and I should be wining and dining with hubby at a place like this … The Olde Pink House.

Last but certainly not least, this Charleston home reminds me of many
summer vacations spent in South Carolina … namely Hilton Head Island.

  3. I love this post. There is a pink bungalow on my street that I adore so much… it reminds me of picture #2 you have posted here. I actually have had lunch at the Olde Pink House and it was delicious! Happy Pink Saturday!

  4. Oh my goodness Jennifer I don’t know which one I like best!!! I could definitely live in a pink house.
I love the one from the Sears catalog.
    Happy Pink Saturday..xo Tami

  5. Jennifer some of these are gorgeous! Although I love pink, I prefer it in smaller amounts. I expect your yellow house is much prettier now than it’s former pink self. I adore Hilton Head Island and haven’t been back since my hubby passed away three years ago.

  6. Love all those pink houses and church. The Pink House in Savannah is a great restaurant I love to dine there and of course, love that it is pink. The house in Charleston is one I walk by often. I love those two historic cities and many houses are pink especially in Charleston.Wish I could live in a pink house.

  7. WOW! Just when I thought I had picked my favorite, nope. Too many darn cute pink houses. I could live in a pink house. Not so sure how the hubby would feel. I bet your house is darling yellow. We visited S. Carolina 3 years ago. I brought home a painting of my favorite house I had seen there. It was yellow with red accents. TOO CUTE! It hangs in our master bedroom.

  8. LOVE…LOVE…LOVE all these pink houses. I would in a minute live in a pink house, especially a Victorian! When done right (as all of the above are) pink is marvelous. I live in an area with tons of Victorians and there was this cute house and just the other day they painted the trim pink- bubble gum pink – not the right pink…I almost crashed the car when I saw it! Thanks for linking up…I am a new follower here!

  9. I also love the third house. It looks a lot like the doll house of my daughter. Hehe. The color of the roof and siding make a beautiful contrast. The pink siding made the dark roof stand out even more. And the white trims create a good lining between the two main colors. It’s perfect, and I think my wife would love this since she loves pink!
