Quiet Time Before Christmas: Friday Finds #78

This final stretch before Christmas is when I like to enjoy a bit of quiet time to reflect on the year and enjoy the simple contentment I find in life. For me, it’s therapeutic to recognize the small pleasures in life that tend to bring great joy. Sometimes that means slowing down to see the beauty in the graceful arch of evergreen tree branches outside the window. Or gazing at the Christmas tree and remembering the true meaning of the holiday. It’s often hard to find quiet moments in today’s busy world but I find myself looking for them more frequently. Here’s to hoping that you’ll find your own moments of peaceful reflection during this very special season.

Let’s start this week’s Friday Finds with a beautiful Christmas home tour from Nova Scotia. I love its simple and timeless appeal. It’s no surprise it was featured on the community’s holiday home tour.

Most of us aren’t traveling overseas due to the current pandemic, but that doesn’t mean we can’t visit virtually. Niki at My Scandinavian house shares what to do in Malmo, her home town of almost 20 years.

Are you hosting Christmas dinner? Impress your guests with a Christmas tree napkin at every place setting. You’ll get the step-by-step instructions.

Winter is the perfect time for homemade hot chocolate and my peppermint marshmallows which are super easy to make. Rather than dessert, serve this chocolatey drink.

Farrow & Ball shares their favorite festive looks in rooms featuring their gorgeous paint colors. I’ll take a soak in that vintage tub anytime!

Finally, if you haven’t wrapped all your gifts yet, check out this gift wrapping video from Linda at Call Me Cupcake (another favorite Scandinavian blogger). Everything she creates is beyond gorgeous and her recipes are pretty dreamy, too.
