Sometimes white vaulted or cathedral ceilings make a room look a bit sterile and cold. Warm wood helps to bring the ceiling down, which is why you’ll often see loft ceilings painted a dark color.

  3. I LOVE reclaimed wood! It’s certainly not cheap though, which is why it’s not in my family room😣.I do have a few boards though that I’m going to have planed and then put on top of an old cabinet my grandfather made. I love your examples.

  4. Love the dough bowl used as a bathroom sink and the natural edge sliding door. Wondering if a wooden sink presents any issues as far as water intrusion, etc.

  5. Love the floors in that top photo, and the transom above the door is great. If you will send the address for the family room coffee table I will be on my way to steal it! It would be perfect in our lower level family room. I have always also wanted wide plank floors. We have really pretty wood floors, but not wide plank.

  6. Beautiful floors and photos. I love the top one where the floors are going in different directions.

  7. Hi Jennifer,
