Relaxed Southern Living in Georgian Home

Enjoy a bit of relaxed southern living featured in this elegant yet comfortable Georgian home. I love so many elements of today’s tour. Let’s start with the arched doorway and sunburst transom window. It’s a gorgeous front door surrounded by beautiful brick.

The staircase in the Georgian home is stunning but what first caught my eye is that uniquely adorable chair! Of course, I also love the glass amber lamp.

An original wild turkey acrylic painting on canvas decorates a cozy corner with the same adorable chair with a copper urn. For some reason I have a major crush on that painting by the very talented Jane Ingols. Follow her on Instagram to see her most recent works.

Not surprising, the kitchen features a lot of amazing details. From the wood beams to the schoolhouse lights, the wall maps, painted paneling, custom cabinetry, and rich wood floors – it all goes together perfectly.

The arched hallway mimics the arch of the Georgian home’s front door. The dining room lies just beyond with a wall of windowed doors that lead to the garden.

I have a thing for windows and this Southern home doesn’t disappoint in that department.

The bedrooms are equally beautiful and repeat the wooden beams seen in the kitchen.

The back of the house is just as beautiful as the front.

  1. Love this house especially all the beams and windows. I’m a window person too. I am curious was that a t.v. above the stove on the fan hood if so I’ve never seen anything like that. Any t.v.’s that have been in a kitchen are usually in a corner or tucked behind a cupboard. All in all this is a beautiful house and I could see myself living here quite easily.

  2. Loved the front doors and ferns, then the stairs, turkey print with the urn for a planter, views, hard to remember everything just very entertaining.

  3. Jennifer, I was thrilled to see the painting of the Wild Turkey that I did featured in this beautiful post. FYI, it is an original acrylic on canvas painting, not a print or reproduction. It is certainly used perfectly by the designer in this setting. Thank you!

  4. Wow so beautiful! My favorite spot is that seating nook surrounded by windows and a view of the lake. Loved all the rooms though. This home is perfect. I also loved the painting. I must check out this artist.

  5. There isn’t one square inch of this home that isn’t beautifully appointed! The details are just stunning- I’d be thrilled to just move right in. Thanks for sharing this one!
