Romantic Finds to Warm Your Soul: Friday Finds #79

friday finds December 31, 2021

For some reason I find myself in a bit of a romantic, nostalgic mood these days. Maybe I’m yearning for something comforting to warm my soul now that Christmas is over. Or maybe it’s because I started watching Sense and Sensibility. British movies and television series tend to have a spell-binding effect on me. Whatever the reason, I rounded up some Friday Finds with a touch of romanticism to them.

Pale blue French bucket filled with flowers

Enjoy a charming bedroom makeover by Dana at Adored House. It was done a couple years ago in classic, uncluttered farmhouse style. And it definitely has a touch of romance to it!

A Victorian schoolhouse in the U.K. was renovated into a lovely home. It’s the type of building you see in nostalgic British movies, which is probably why I was drawn to it. Check it out and let me know if you like the bathroom floor.

In case you have a burning desire to know, you can find out what differentiates the most popular styles of French decorating. They include French Farmhouse, French Provincial, and French Chateau.

Who loves a romantic wedding? Just before Thanksgiving we attended my son’s best friend’s wedding that was beautiful and held in a small, historic church. I love seeing wedding décor and today I’ve got an English country wedding for you to see. The flowers and location are amazing.

Winter is a great time to get away to some place warm, and this beach retreat on Sullivan’s Island would be an ideal location. I’d love to nap on the vintage daybed on the sleeping porch!

The last thing on this week’s list that’s sure to warm your soul, and your tummy, is my grandmother’s old-fashioned pot roast. Both she and my mother used to make this dish for Sunday dinner after church. The leftovers were just as good later in the week.

Here’s to a Happy New Year – stay safe tonight and find comfort in the simple things of life.

I so agree! While I do check out other blogs, Jennifer’s is the one I always return to.
I am in upstate/central NY- think Utica/Syracuse- but one of my sons, his wonderful wife and their lovely little girl are in Portland OR- they took their honeymoon in Vancouver and often visit Vancouver and other lovely BC areas, COVID allowing.
Must be a wonderful place to live.
Wishing you a much better, healthier, safer, New Year.

Romantic decor! I love it. I have 30 years worth of Victoria magazines stored downstairs and read them often. I love French/ European/Nordic rustic farmhouse decor.
Have you watched Foley’s War and Grandchester? The ambiance of these series is so pleasant and soothing.
Sending wishes for the coming year to be filled with well being for you and your family.
