Small U-Shaped Kitchen in Traditional Style

Am I the only one who likes small kitchens? They might lack counter space and oodles of storage, but I like their homey appeal. Today’s u-shaped kitchen by Terracotta Design Build might be small on size but it’s large on style!

A sleek goose-neck faucet crowns a traditional farmhouse sink on side. Brushed silver knobs accentuate the shaker-style cabinets which seem to be increasing in popularity these days.

To keep a streamlined look in the u-shaped kitchen, custom cabinet doors hide the refrigerator. I love the use of a colorful Turkish rug on the warm wood floor.

Note how every square inch has storage or some type of functionality built into the kitchen. I love the cozy little cabinets for storing smaller items like spices or coffee mugs.

Marble counter tops add an air of elegance to the pale gray glass-front cabinets.

It seems most of today’s home builders have gotten away from the u-shaped kitchen, but I think it presents the best floor plan since everything is in reach.

  1. I absolutely LOVE this kitchen! Have pinned it under many categories on my boards. Definitely one of the best! If things are well thought out they don’t need to be large. Perfection on this one!!! Thanks for showing this masterpiece!

  2. I love this kitchen it’s the perfect size and style. I have one and i love mine, i found i had far more stuff in my kitchen than i actually was using. It is unreal what we accumulate in cooking supplies that we do not use.

  3. I have a smaller kitchen and I love it! It was U-shaped which I liked but the layout was wrong for the space. We remodeled our kitchen last year and did L shaped with an island (no seating- we didn’t need it).I love to cook and the layout has everything I need at my fingertips. I drool over the large, expansive kitchens and then I think about all the steps needed to get from place to place and that turns me off to larger kitchens. I like having things close by. To me, it makes cooking more fun. In the small space, I did not get everything on my wish list, but I still love it!

  4. I am not normally a fan of gray. It usually reads cold to me, but this gray is so warm. Love it with the subway tile and beautiful floors and rug. The room has so much natural light too. Maybe I’m finally accepting gray after it’s been on the scene for so long. Probably right at the time when it will stop being the “go to” trend.

  5. Such a cute kitchen. I think a lot of the elements that make it cute could be included in apartment kitchens like mine. Wish I could afford my own contractor!
