Spring Decorating in a Farmhouse Dining Nook

home decor, spring March 4, 2014

Snow, snow, go away! I’m trying to push away winter by adding bits of spring decorating throughout our home, and I went all out in our farmhouse kitchen nook. This week I’m joining some beautiful bloggers in the Seasons of Home Spring Tour … aka “Blooming with Color.” The weekly schedule is at the end of the post, so be sure to visit their pretty blogs for spring decorating and recipes.

When I think of spring color, I think pastels …

Spring Decorating in the Kitchen NookEspecially pink!  I’ve always been a pink kinda girl.

Spring Blooms in an enamelware pitcherMy inspiration for spring decorating in our farmhouse kitchen started with this vintage tablecloth.

Spring Table Setting on a Vintage Table ClothUp close, you can see the tablecloth has a variety of pastel colors.

My aqua trimmed linen napkins match perfectly!

Spring Table Setting in a Farmhouse KitchenI added a burlap table runner to keep it from looking too sweet.

To add color to the runner, I added a few strips of colorful ribbon.

Pink and blue blooms in an aqua mason jarI love pink and blue blooms together. Especially in an aqua mason jar.

Spring table setting in a farmhouse kitchenI have to be honest … sometimes I really struggle with what to put together.

I filled a second enamelware pitcher with another sprig of pink blossoms.

Spring blossoms in white enamelware pitchersWhen I walk in our farmhouse kitchen in the morning, the efforts of my spring decorating makes me smile.

The pink pops against the white and lifts my spirits, making me forget about winter for the moment.

Mirror Mirror on the Kitchen WallThe big mirror in my kitchen reveals what’s on the other side of the room.

Spring decorating in a farmhouse kitchen nookA couple days ago I shared the instructions for making the spring botanical print banner.

It adds a bit of spring decorating color to our built-in hutch.

So pretty, and spring has not arrived in my neck of the woods either. Still buried in snow here.

Can you tell me about your kitchen floor? Did you put that tile in or was it there when you bought the house. I am looking for flooring for my kitchen and want something other than wood. I like yours.

Thanks, Heather. The flooring was here when we moved in. I’ve been told it’s Mexican tile, if that helps.
