Tennessee Classic: Charming Home Tour
Happy Sunday! Are you ready for another inspiring home tour? Today we’re headed to the Volunteer State to check out a Tennesee home decorated by Pillar and Peacock. You’ll find the interiors filled with what I call modern farmhouse style.
Beautiful brick steps lead you up to the wide porch which is perfect for southern summers.
Appealing wood double doors open wide to reveal an interesting light fixture in the foyer.
A rustic cabinet in the mud room provides convenient space for kids to hang coats. Little cubbies keep shoes, hats, mittens, and more hidden from view.
A trio of farmhouse pendant lights provide light for the pretty living room with its own built-in cabinet with farmhouse sliding doors. I love the wood treatment on the door frames of this Tennessee charmer.
Beautiful blue tiles pair with wood cabinets and a gorgeous wood floor in the kitchen. I love the stove and double ovens, along with the interesting lights. Every time I cook a gourmet meal I’m reminded that I need more stove and oven space. I’d love to have a kitchen like this one.
Marble counter tops lend a touch of elegance to the wood grain cabinetry.
The hallway reveals more of the rustic wood flooring, along with another set of sliding barn doors. Surprisingly, a simple wrought iron railing is used at the staircase.
The row of windows provide lots of natural lighting in the upper hallway. I’ve been wondering what it would cost to cut three windows in the wall opposite our hallway at the top of the stairs. It’s a little dark up there and I think windows would lend special charm.
A pale blue ceiling matches the hue of the rug below in one of the bedrooms. A pretty light fixture hangs overhead while floor to ceiling drapes add a bit of femininity.
Another restful bedroom is decorated simply, ready to welcome guests for the evening.
A child’s room has playful appeal with stripes on the wall that match the colors in the bedding. Geometric shapes are seen on the drapes and a lumbar pillow.
One bathroom repeats the colors and textures of the kitchen.
Another bathroom enjoys shiplap walls and a free standing tub.
Finally, a kids playroom creates a playful space to enjoy toys of all sorts. Fun tee-pees create cozy nooks.

Very nicely done. It might not be too costly to have windows put in. You remind me of my own never ending interest in improvement projects…something my hubby is not too thrilled with. I’m always “yes!” He’s always “no”. In the past six years we have replaced the kitchen, put on a new nice deck, a new roof, a new driveway and sidewalk, painted the exterior, and stripped and whitewashed the main floor wood and stairs. We are in the middle of remodeling the lower level family room, so I really can’t complain. Our home is 30 years old and was getting dated.
