The Campbell Street House

If you follow my blog, you know I like to take exterior photos of historic homes in the area and give ya’ll a tour. Recently I found that one of those historic homes in Geneva is now up for sale and I was able to grab some interior photos (source of photo if not mine is Miscella Real Estate).

This is the historic house on Campbell Street that I love.
It’s not extravagant, rather, it has simple clean lines and pretty urns out front.
All following photos are from Miscella Real Estate.
I’ve always been a sucker for staircases bare of carpet.
I know, I know. They’re noisier and more of a safety hazard but they’re beautiful.
A bright and sunny family room greets you upon entering.
A classic kitchen is a cook’s dream with an over-sized oven range.
An expansive island allows several guests to cozy up and watch the cook work her magic.
A charming courtyard lies just outside the kitchen door.
Another light-filled room with a rich, dark wood floor. Yum!
A cozy office under the eaves. I think I’d turn the desk around and place it closer to the windows.
The curtain style in this bedroom has always been a favorite of mine.
I love the smocking on top and of course, white curtains are crisp and charming.
A quaint little boy’s room with furry friends to keep him company. Love the stuffed animals used as decor!
How adorable is that giant diaper pin above the changing table?
Makes me wanna have a baby just so I can do that in a room. Well, maybe not.
And, Hello!  This home has a rear staircase! I would love a house with two stairways.
The bright, laundry room is just off the back staircase.
I love that they added a brick patio as opposed to a deck. It’s more in style with the home.
One drawback to this home is the lack of a grassy backyard, which may be why it’s for sale.
With young charges, you gotta have room for them to run and play outside.
Hope you enjoyed the tour of the historic home on Campbell Street in Geneva.
It’s available through Miscella Real Estate for $885,000 if you’re interested in moving to Illinois!

  1. Thanks for taking the time to visit Posed Perfection today and leave me a sweet comment about the Cottage Cheese Pancakes. I hope you enjoy them… they are a different texture from traditional pancakes…more like a heavy crepe. Anyway, we love them and I hope you do too. Have a great weekend!
    Blessings,

  2. Morning Jennifer! Love love this house. I especially love the uncluttered look even though it was probably staged – yet I was decorating that kitchen within minutes of seeing it!!lol

After mowing lawn in this awful heat I would actually welcome the all brick backyard – no little ones here!

Thanks for sharing this – Jeannette

  3. Wow, I love this home, if it was in Auckland and in the area I live you would have to pay at least 1.5 million for it. Our houses in Auckland, New Zealand have just become so overpriced. For a little less than this house I have a tiny cottage 120 sq metres only….I am on that flight to Illinois!

  4. Jennifer, I just love, love, love your home tours, inside and out. Feeds my home addiction. Your burlap bag idea in the post below is such a great idea as well. Thanks for the tutorial. I’m going to hang onto that!

  5. Oh, only $885? This house is absolutely perfect. I love the diaper pin too, I’ll make you a deal..when we have a baby we can put that in his/her room. If we can find one. Or crafty grandma can make it. I love this house. I like the stairs too. I’m not a fan of carpet. Is this a house we passed while running?

  6. What a pretty home! Now I could move right in there, except I’d have to change the child’s room and the nursery. That business is all over with! 😉
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia 😉

  7. I would move to Illinois in a heartbeat as it is the land I was born and raised and I would definitely take that house, though I think $885,000 is just a tab out of my price range. DRATS!!
