Beautiful Traditional East Coast House with Vintage Appeal
Hello friends! I hope all of you are well and happy after Easter Sunday. Today we’re touring a home located in Chevy Chase, MD – located just north of Washington DC where I spent last week (photos coming soon). The amazing designer of this east coast house is Willard and Palmer Design.
Step into the entry and be greeted by a lovely staircase and wallpapered walls. A large chalkboard creates space for writing memos to family or even a list of needed groceries.

The living room boasts traditional styling with a set of botanic prints flanked by elegant vases. Comfy furniture softens the room while an elephant end table adds a bit of whimsy and eclectic appeal.

You’ll find fun patterns and colors in this east coast house located northwest of Washington DC. Large windows allow an abundance of natural light to flood the rooms.

The kitchen is filled with classic farmhouse charm. A large checked floor creates interest beneath the taupe-colored custom cabinetry. Custom trim molding and beamed ceilings lend architectural interest to the room.

One of my favorite features of this Washington DC home is this amazing built-in cabinet. I’ve never seen one like it and it’s attractively styled.

I agree with you about that interesting one-of-a-kind cabinet. Also, one thing I noticed was the little railing around the top of the kitchen upper cabinet. I have never seen that before. I think I would like to try that on my cabinet. There are so many interesting decorating things to look at like using corbels to display vases. I must go take a second look. Thanks for sharing this lovely home.

One minute I am thinking English…the next Danish…and then it looks like it is a ship! Love the bamboo in the powder room, unusual fabrics and wallpapers, and of course that cabinet- which looks like the slanted top lifts for storage. Looks like a new house- beautiful!
i like the pattern on the cieling of the bath room also the Tea cozy effect around the bath !!!!

I just sold my cabin in Upstate NY, the epitome of a mountain cabin, and I’m waiting for a brand new condo to be built in Murrells inlet, SC.
I have to admit that starting with an open slate, going in a completely different direction really had me nervous, but looking at your emails of the beautiful beach homes you’ve found has given me direction. Now, instead of being nervous, I am so excited and can’t wait until it’s ready.
