Tour a Traditional Home in Historic Beacon Hill

When I saw that this traditional home was located in historic Beacon Hill, I knew it would be beautiful. Each room has a unique pop of color that provides an element of surprise to the stunning interior design.

The dining room is what first caught my eye in this historic home with multiple fireplaces and built-ins. Notice the deep-set windows, too! Seeing this gorgeous space makes me want slipcovers for my dining chairs when not in use. I love the softness they provide.

The kitchen enjoys traditional home elements like subway tile and hardwood flooring, but it also features a unique cooking range in a greenish shade of aqua.

A cozy dining nook snuggles up to one of several fireplaces in the traditional home. Bold stripes provide a contemporary vibe on the banquette cushions.

My daughter Stephanie would love the horse print in the neutral living room with an elegant chandelier. She loves horses. A wing chair is upholstered in a fun green and white botanical print.

Grass cloth pairs with gray painted wood work in a cozy den where you’ll find yet another fireplace and more of the deep-set windows. I’m a huge fan of that leather chesterfield sofa!

An iron poster bed is left void of a fabric canopy. The vaulted ceiling pairs a few rustic wooden beams with a feminine chandelier.

Dark orange adds whimsy and color to a pale aqua girl’s bedroom.

  1. I grew up near Boston and know exactly where this home is located. There was a time after I got out of college I use to babysit one of my professor’s dog. So I would stay in her Beacon Hill 4-story home for a few weeks/year and take care of the family dog. These pictures remind me of her place. Although hers wasn’t as modernized but it was a dream to stay there. Love the kitchen. Does the stove/hood have a green tint or am I seeing things?

  2. The den was my favorite room in this house. I was not a fan of the bright green accents throughout some of the other rooms. Each to their own ….
