Vintage Bathrooms, a Shaker Kitchen, and Other Friday Finds

Lately I’ve been really inspired by what I’m seeing in the world of interior decorating. There’s more color, pattern, and coziness showing up in every room of the house. Take the vintage bathroom shown here. It’s white, but features a really fun black and white diamond-patterned floor. The only thing that bothers me about this space is that the hangers were left on the plant pots. LOL. If you’re not going to hang the plant, you might as well remove the hanger. But then, I’m a bit of a fanatic when it comes to pairing plants with pots. I should do a blog post about it. Are you ready for this week’s finds?

Who loves an old-fashioned bathroom? Yes, modern spa bathrooms are divine, but vintage bathrooms are quaint and endearing and can be enjoyed just as much.

Winter is a great time for curling up with a book under a blanket with a mug of hot chocolate in hand. See this collection of cozy reading nook ideas that are a perfect space for finishing that new novel.

If you want to treat yourself to a new blanket for reading or prettying up your bed, you don’t want to miss these beautiful hand-quilted throws.

It’s no secret that I’ve been crushing on the color green all year. So I was quite enamored with this beautiful Shaker kitchen in a unique color palette. Let me know if you like it, too.

Have you noticed an increase in natural wood being used in homes today? Check out this gorgeous home tour with wonderful natural wood accents throughout.

If you’re in the mood to indulge yourself a little, try my recipe for individual chocolate souffles with crème anglaise. They look so pretty but are quite easy to make. The individual portions make it easier not to eat too much of this heavenly dessert – unless you eat more than one which is tempting (I know from first-hand experience).

Hope you enjoy your New Year’s Eve celebration – whether you go out or stay home and watch the ball drop in New York on television!

  1. Loved your Friday Finds! As for the plant hangers- I move my plants inside in the fall but leave the hangers on so I can move them over the winter to various spots in my home. Could be the photographer place the plants in the bathroom just for the pictures?
Yes, I too am loving the return of color.
    Happy New Year!

  2. The Shaker kitchen has every thing any one would need. It’s very comfortable and home like….but it is to busy for me. I do love those those oversized leather and velvet chairs.
