architecture, home decor June 30, 2021

Are you ready for a little summer reading and loads of decorating inspiration all at once? It’s time for another book giveaway! Visions of Home features the gorgeous work of Historical Concepts, one of my favorite architectural firms. Showcased in the book are country estates, pastoral properties, and coastal retreats. The artisanal craftsmanship of these homes and their interior spaces is simply amazing. Take a look through some of its pages to see for yourself!

As a senior on a fixed income, I do not have the resources to update my home in the manner shown in the photos of this beautiful book. I am, though, able to create smaller touches that can definitely improve the look of my rooms. I know that if I had a copy of the book, I would be able to enhance the look of the home I love.

Living in a 1912 bungalow, I am always fascinated with the decorating styles people use in their similar homes.
We make every effort to stay within the parameters of the original style of our home. Our doors, casings, window frames, pillars etc. are all the original oak.

Those striped awnings! I always think they add such charm to a home, door or even just a window. Love!
The light brick inside that kitchen, be still my heart. I want to remember that for my next home which won’t be too far from now it seems. Always a move with hubby’s work but I’m putting my feet down..this is the last one.
Keep the ideas coming Jennifer! Holding on to the Michigan trip area as well. I just wish it didn’t snow so much there. What beauty.
