Your Favorite Posts of 2015

First, let me wish all of you a Happy New Year!  I’m hoping 2016 is better than 2015 … it was a rough year for our family. But more on that later. As you probably know, many bloggers share their top posts for the year. It’s a great way to look back and see what our readers most enjoyed. It helps shape our posts for the upcoming year. I’ve decided to list my most popular posts by month. So without further ado, here are your favorite posts listed by the month they were published.

January ~ The Return to Small House Living

Who knew that small houses are so popular right now?  I certainly didn’t. I mean … I know they have cottage appeal and they simplify home chores, but I wasn’t aware how many people are attracted to the idea of downsizing and simplifying their lives. Although I wrote about the Return to Small House Living back in January, this blog post still gets a lot of traffic today.

February ~ Skies of Parchment Home Tour

Skies of Parchement Home Tour

Over a year ago I started my Charming Home Series. Each Sunday I showcase a different home … some are the homes of fellow bloggers like Skies of Parchment, and other house tours are from sites like Houzz.  You all loved this home as much as I do, so this was no surprise that it was the most popular post published in February.

March ~ Our Vintage Home Love

Our Vintage Home Love

Another home tour topped the list in March. You all fell in love with Our Vintage Home Love, as did I when I first toured it. This farmhouse has tons of charm and is still a popular post even today.

April ~ Color Washed Book Page Wreath

How to make a color washed book page wreath

I was a little surprised to see that my tutorial for making a color washed book page wreath was April’s favorite post. I love book page crafts but wasn’t sure how many of you are keen on them. Paper crafts are my favorite and since my readers seem to like them too, you can expect to see more in 2016.

May ~ My Springtime Porch

Spring Porch

Yay!  You liked my springtime porch in May! Once the weather starts warming up, I love coming out here to enjoy coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. And when my kitties join me out here, it’s all the better.

June ~ Simple Farmhouse Porch

Double Yay!  The porch was a winner again in June. This time my simple farmhouse porch was part of the Farmhouse Fridays series that happens the 4th Friday of every month and includes some of my farmhouse blogging friends.

July ~ Butler’s Pantry Ideas

I love butler’s pantries and am happy to know you do too!  I think anything that helps us organize the kitchen and simplify the cooking/entertaining process is a good thing.

August ~ Living Rooms to Love

Collection of Living Rooms to Love

Gone are the days of stuffy living rooms and to prove that point, I shared a collection of living rooms from the homes of my blogging friends, in addition to my own. Today’s living rooms are more casual and comfortable, and not just for Sunday company.

September ~ Fall Farmhouse Tour

Fall Home Tour. Farmhouse Kitchen

In September, I wasn’t surprised that my fall home tour was the most popular post. Fall decor seems to always be popular with blog readers, more so than a spring or summer tour. I think that’s because the weather is cooling off and people are more in a nesting mood.

October ~ Impressive Tiny Houses

In October I decided to feature impressive tiny houses again and surprise, surprise!  It was the most popular post published during the month. I plan to write more about living with smaller spaces in 2016 so stay tuned!

November ~ Get the Farmhouse Christmas Look

Christmas in the Farmhouse Kitchen

Another Farmhouse Friday post was the favorite post in November … how to get the Farmhouse Christmas look! I shared ideas for “farmifying” your home.

December ~ Christmas Home Tour

Christmas Home Tour at Town and Country Living

I have to confess, if my Christmas home tour wasn’t the most popular post in December, I would’ve been disappointed. So thank you for making me happy!  Seriously though, I do appreciate each and every one of you who reads my blog … whether it’s just a visit here and there, or whether you’re a regular reader … your interest in what I publish here on Town and Country Living means the world to me!  You give me inspiration to keep doing what I love, and I can’t thank you enough!

Town and Country Living's Year in Review

I’m glad 2015 is over. It was a rough year for my family. My father passed in January, my husband was diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening disease, our basement flooded and one of the basement walls collapsed completely.  But God is good.  After seeing many doctors and getting lots of tests, my husband’s health now has a positive prognosis and I think he’s going to be fine. We fortunately had the funds to cover the basement repairs and we’re dry now with a new wall and new sump pump.

Looking forward to 2016! Happy New Year to All of You!
