Quick and Easy French Fries with Dipping Sauces

I’m noticing a trend in my life right now. More time spent on holiday preparations and less time cooking, which means grabbing snacks or meals on the go. Do you ever get so caught up in a project that you realize you missed a meal? When I’m burrowed into decorating and meal planning, I often find myself snacking on fruit or anything else that’s easy to make. I recently made a super tasty batch of quick and easy French Fries with a variety of dipping sauces using McCain 5 Minute Fries.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and I’ve been scouring favorite cookbooks while I plan my family’s turkey dinner. Being hungry when looking at cookbooks is not a good idea because everything looks tasty and tempting and then I can’t make a decision on a menu. The Easy Vegetarian Cookbook you see in my basket is great for side dishes and salads.

And speaking of vegetables, I was thrilled to find McCain 5 Minute Fries at our local Woodman’s grocery store, because by the time I find myself craving French Fries, I don’t want to wait for them to come out of the oven. Made from real potatoes, these French Fries truly take just 5 minutes to bake and are super tasty.

My daughters often help me and my hubby plan our Thanksgiving menu so it’s a true family affair. Rather than serve our meal-planning snack with plain old ketchup, I made it fun with a variety of dipping sauces. From left to right, we enjoyed French onion dip, chipotle mayonnaise, and spicy barbecue sauce. Other options to consider are bacon jam, balsamic vinegar, pepper honey … or anything you think would be good. It’s fun to experiment!

Hubby’s favorite dipping sauce is French onion. The dip is great with potato chips, so why not French Fries too? My personal fave is the spicy barbecue sauce.

I also really liked McCain Sweet Potato Fries with the French onion dip. Kids will love trying different dipping sauces, too. Especially if served with McCain Smiles (French Fries in the shape of smiley faces).

If you’re a traditionalist, by all means serve up quick and easy French Fries with your favorite ketchup.
