Beautiful Bathroom Vanity Ideas That Add Style and Personality

A bathroom vanity is more than just a place to brush your teeth and wash your face. It’s also an opportunity to bring color, warmth, texture, and personality into one of the most frequently used rooms in your home. Whether you prefer the natural beauty of wood, a bold painted finish, or something simple and modern, the right vanity can completely change the look of your bathroom. Today, we’re exploring nine beautiful bathroom vanity ideas that show how much difference a thoughtfully chosen vanity can make.

1. A Moody Vanity with Romantic Details

This first bathroom is a wonderful example of how a vanity can complement the overall design of a room. The deep dark green cabinetry blends beautifully with the dark beadboard and dramatic floral wallpaper, while the white vessel sink provides a refreshing contrast.

I especially love the warm brass wall-mounted faucet and the slim, vintage-style mirror. These small details add just the right amount of elegance without competing with the wallpaper. Even the ceiling is painted dark, giving the entire bathroom a rich, enveloping feel.

Design takeaway: Don’t be afraid to coordinate your vanity color with the walls or trim. It creates a cohesive look and allows other features, like wallpaper and lighting, to shine.

2. Natural Wood and Stone for an Organic Look

For a completely different approach, this double vanity combines natural wood cabinetry with substantial stone vessel sinks. The open shelving and woven baskets give the space a relaxed, organic feeling, while the dark countertop adds a bit of drama.

The simple curved faucets complement the rectangular sinks, and the large windows flood the room with natural light. It’s a beautiful example of how combining different natural materials can create a bathroom that feels both modern and welcoming.

Design takeaway: Mix wood, stone, and woven textures to add warmth to a contemporary bathroom. The contrast between smooth and textured surfaces makes the design more interesting.

3. Simple Wood Cabinetry with a Modern Touch

Sometimes the simplest bathroom vanity ideas are the most appealing. This compact floating vanity features warm wood drawers, a white countertop, and a round vessel sink. The clean lines keep the look uncluttered, making it especially suitable for a smaller bathroom.

Notice how the wall-mounted faucet eliminates the need for hardware on the countertop. The softly rounded mirror adds another subtle design element, while the white penny tile provides texture without overwhelming the space.

Design takeaway: A floating vanity can make a small bathroom feel more spacious by keeping the floor visible. Choose a wood finish to prevent an all-white bathroom from feeling too stark.

4. Rustic Charm with Open Shelving

There’s something appealing about the simplicity of this rustic wood vanity. The thick wooden countertop and open shelves give it a handcrafted appearance, while the white vessel sink creates a pleasing contrast.

Woven baskets keep smaller items organized, and neatly stacked towels are both practical and decorative. The black vintage-style faucet and industrial-inspired light fixture reinforce the casual, farmhouse character of the room.

Design takeaway: Open shelving works particularly well in rustic and cottage-style bathrooms. Use baskets to hide everyday necessities while keeping attractive towels within easy reach.

5. A Splash of Blue with Natural Wood Accents

If you love color, this double vanity offers plenty of inspiration! The gorgeous blue mosaic tile makes a striking backdrop for two simple white vessel sinks and round mirrors.

Rather than adding another strong color with traditional cabinetry, the design uses thick, natural wood shelves beneath the sinks. This combination balances the vibrant tile with warmth and texture, creating a fresh, contemporary look.

Design takeaway: If you’re incorporating colorful tile into your bathroom, consider a natural wood vanity to soften the overall effect. Keeping the sinks and accessories simple allows the tile to take center stage.

6. Making the Most of an Awkward Space

This charming bathroom proves that a beautiful vanity doesn’t require a large room. Tucked beneath a sloping ceiling, the natural wood cabinet makes excellent use of an otherwise challenging space.

The muted blue-green tile backsplash adds a gentle touch of color, while the white shiplap and countertop keep everything light and airy. I particularly like the oval mirror mounted on a swing arm. It’s a practical solution that also adds character.

Design takeaway: When working with a small or unusually shaped bathroom, consider a custom-sized vanity. A combination of closed cabinets and open shelves provides useful storage without making the space feel crowded.

7. A Beautiful Blue Painted Vanity

Painted bathroom vanities are a wonderful way to introduce color without committing to colorful walls or tile. This handsome blue double vanity makes a statement while still feeling timeless.

The marble countertop and matching backsplash add a luxurious touch, while the rectangular mirrors with coordinating blue frames create a polished, cohesive appearance. Sleek black hardware and wall-mounted faucets provide a modern contrast.

Design takeaway: Consider painting your vanity a favorite color and repeating that shade in the mirror frames or another small detail. It’s an easy way to make the entire bathroom feel thoughtfully designed.

8. Warm Wood with a Vintage Feel

This bathroom combines the warmth of wood with the clean lines of a contemporary space. The substantial double vanity features multiple drawers with dark metal pulls that give the cabinetry a slightly vintage, furniture-inspired appearance.

The black faucets and oversized oval mirrors create a striking contrast against the white shiplap walls. Open shelving along the bottom provides room for baskets and rolled towels, making the vanity as functional as it is attractive.

Design takeaway: If you love the look of antique furniture, consider a vanity with furniture-style drawers and traditional hardware. You can pair it with modern sinks and faucets for a fresh take on vintage style.

9. A Classic Green Vanity with Elegant Brass Accents

Our final bathroom features a beautiful deep green vanity paired with a white stone countertop and warm brass hardware. It’s a lovely combination that feels classic without being overly formal.

The two ornate arched mirrors add personality and a touch of vintage charm, while the brass faucets and lighting tie everything together. I love how the decorative mirrors soften the straight lines of the cabinetry.

Design takeaway: Mixing traditional and modern elements can give a bathroom a collected-over-time appearance. Try pairing a simple painted vanity with vintage-inspired mirrors or distinctive hardware for a look that’s uniquely yours.

Small Details That Make a Big Difference

As these beautiful bathroom vanity ideas demonstrate, it’s not always the size or style of the cabinet that makes the biggest impact. Sometimes it’s the finishing touches that pull the entire design together.

Here are a few details worth considering when choosing or updating your bathroom vanity:

  • Color: A painted vanity in blue, green, charcoal, or another favorite shade can give your bathroom an entirely new personality. Natural wood, on the other hand, brings warmth and texture that works with almost any decorating style.
  • Faucets: Wall-mounted faucets create a clean, streamlined appearance, while traditional deck-mounted faucets can add vintage charm. Brass, matte black, and brushed nickel each bring a different character to the room.
  • Hardware: Cabinet knobs and drawer pulls may be small, but they have a surprisingly big influence on the finished look. Changing the hardware is also one of the easiest ways to refresh an existing vanity.
  • Mirrors: Don’t overlook the mirrors! Round and oval shapes soften a room filled with straight lines, while vintage-inspired frames add character. Even a simple painted mirror frame can help coordinate the overall design.
  • Storage: Think about how you use your bathroom every day. Drawers, cabinets, open shelving, and baskets can all help keep the space organized while contributing to its style.

Give Your Bathroom Vanity a Fresh Look

You don’t necessarily need a complete bathroom renovation to make a noticeable difference. Sometimes a fresh coat of paint, new cabinet hardware, an updated faucet, or a beautiful mirror is all it takes to transform the space.

Which is your favorite? Do you prefer the warmth of natural wood or the personality of a colorful painted vanity? I’d love to hear what you think!

  1. My favorite is the first one, the blue vanity and wainscoting topped by that gorgeous wallpaper!
Some of the others not so much–the vanities seem to be overwhelmed by the hardware, especially the next to last one. Yikes, was there a sale on that hardware???
