Beautiful Green and Burgundy Moscow Kitchen for Modern Living
Today’s beautifully designed Moscow kitchen blends timeless elegance with modern sophistication. Perfectly balanced, this space is both functional and inviting—a stylish haven for cooking and entertaining. The kitchen is part of a remodeled apartment, by Tatyana Krasikova, located in an historic building.
The deep green cabinetry creates a striking contrast against the burgundy-framed glass doors, while gold accents in the light fixtures and hardware add a touch of luxury. The patterned tile flooring enhances the vintage charm.
Subtle details like pink upholstered bar stools and and a bouquet of peonies bring softness and femininity.
Quartz counter tops enhance the timelessness of the classic Moscow kitchen.
I’ve previously noticed rings on the back of dining chairs like the ones seen here on the bar stools. Are those simply for decoration, or are they to be used to help move the chair? I’ve never understood this design element, so I did some research.
One source said dining chairs with rings on the back have been around hundreds of years and were initially used to hold candles. This doesn’t sound practical to me. Another source said the ring is used to pull the chair out from the table so dirty hands never touch the fabric. One funny answer is to tie your dog to the ring while dining.
The Moscow kitchen is adjacent to the elegant living room with its relief-patterned ceiling and glamourous pendant light. The host or hostess can do food prep while still being accessible to guests on the blue velvet sofa.
The kitchen is small yet functional. I love the choice of deep burgundy for the glass sliding doors.
A small dining area just outside the kitchen doors fits well into this corner of the living room. A beautiful herring-patterned wood floor defines the dining space.
A panoramic view from this end of the kitchen shows the cabinetry on the left where the oven resides. I’m assuming a refrigerator is behind one of the green doors.
