Today we’re headed to the state of Georgia to see a traditional Buckhead home by T.S. Adams filled with soft colors and casual elegance.

The living room is filled with natural light due to amazing mullioned windows. Have you noticed the painted paneling that carries through from the foyer and stairway? A cozy seating area encourages spirited conversation.

The soft blue and cream color scheme spills into the traditional kitchen with custom cabinetry and unique back splash.
The dining room is elegant and a bit more formal than the rest of this Buckhead home. A traditional chandelier draws the eye upward to reveal a coffered ceiling.

Upstairs, the bedrooms are soft and feminine. The dark headboard adds just enough contrast so the room doesn’t feel like it’s going to float away.

A pretty under-the-eaves bedroom is very soft and relaxing, and comes with a unique built-in on the short wall for added storage.

A child’s bedroom goes a little bit bolder in color but continues the blue color scheme you see throughout the traditional Buckhead home. A fun loft creates the feel of a tree house in the room.

Outside, you’ll find plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature. Such a beautiful shingle-style Buckhead home!

What a gorgeous home! I especially like the bedroom under the eaves with the builtin storage. As I love traditional decor, this home really appeals to me.

My father-in-law grew up in Atlanta (he would be 101 if he was alive today) right off of Peachtree on Huntingdon Rd. His father, a practical engineer, not wanting to go into any kind of mortgage debt in the 1920’s, sold his Coca Cola stock (my father in law went to school with the Chandler boys) to pay cash to build their $20K home. When we go to Atlanta we always like to ride by that wonderful home. The area is highly sought after being richer in the history of old Atlanta, than the Buckhead area; the Huntingdon Rd. homes just not being as large. When our kids were growing up we lovingly used to call it the “Million Dollar home”. $40 worth of Coca Cola in 1919 would be worth almost $10 MILLION today. Doing the math on Granddaddy’s house, we need to adjust it to the BILLION DOLLAR HOME!!! I think every family has a similar story, right? 🙂
BTW: Many of our treasured family pieces are from that Huntington Rd. home.
