Christmas is coming, the snow is falling, my shopping is half done, and I’m a happy camper. Last year this same time I felt so stressed with all the decorating, planning, and shopping. This year I made some changes. My Christmas decorations are up earlier and I’ve purchased all of my gifts online. It sure beats fighting the crowds. So today I’m relaxing a little and looking at pretty holiday photos from Houzz, which I’m now sharing with you. Houzz has a cool embed feature that makes photo sharing easy. Let’s start with Christmas trees! A pretty living room decorated for the holidays hows how a bright color scheme creates a festive look. Deep pink, gold, and green ornaments hang from the tree and are scattered about the room. Even the wrapping paper matches.

When your living room wears a bold color, you can keep Christmas decorations simple. A few simple ornaments adorn the beautiful tree. If you like the look of sparse branches, consider removing some of them from a live tree which creates space for ornaments to hang straight.

A beautiful wreath is always a welcome staple when it comes to holiday decorating. Don’t skimp on the wreath that adorns your front door. If your budget is tight, consider adding fresh greens to a faux wreath. Snip a few branches from the yard and use green florist wire to attach the branches to an existing wreath or wreath form. You’ll have a fuller, more expensive-looking wreath.

A small evergreen like a Norfolk pine add simple appeal tucked into a paper bag. Small stars hang from the branches, while a single branch on the wall displays ornaments reading “love.” You can find Norfolk pines at your local grocer for just a few dollars, and since they’re planted in dirt, they’ll keep for years provided you care for them properly.
