This is the first Sunday of 2016, which means it’s also the first Charming Home tour of the year! I’m happy to be featuring the gorgeous home of a fellow runner! Jenny at Evolution of Style is a marathoner just like me, although it’s been a couple years since my last marathon. I still run outside (yes, even in winter), but marathon training takes a LOT of time, as Jenny can attest to, which doesn’t leave much time for cleaning and primping the house. But Jenny’s charming home is stunning and she’s completed several DIY projects throughout.
Check out the amazing ceiling in Jenny’s great room. I love architectural details like this; they bring a unique element to living spaces. The large, arched window is a nice feature, as well. I love homes with lots of windows!
Jenny recently painted her kitchen cabinets and it really brightens up the space. Beautiful granite counter tops are the cherry on this sundae of a kitchen. Did you notice the harlequin pattern tile work above the stove?
Jenny added color-blocked drapes to her dining room. They play well with the patterned rug and traditional style chandelier.
What I wouldn’t give to have a large laundry room like Jenny’s. It’s great to have room to spread out and fold items before taking them to their designated spaces. Jenny added board and batten trim in this room.
I’m in love with the gallery wall here in Jenny’s powder room. The dark paint adds drama and really makes the paintings pop.
Downstairs you’ll find a cozy media room and other great entertainment spaces …
… like this great bar area! I’m crushing on Jenny’s bar stools!
You’ve heard of the “man cave.” Well, Jenny has a mom cave! The slipper chair wears a fun pattern, and the pom pom fringe on the lamp shade adds a bit more whimsy to this feminine office space.
Jenny lightened up her hallway by adding board and batten trim and painting it white. This is an easy architectural element to add to your home, and Jenny reveals how it’s done on her blog.
Upstairs, another architectural project awaits in her daughter’s bedroom. Jenny shares how to add the paneled headboard on the wall. I love the colors in this room! Pink and green have long been a favorite color combination of mine!
An expansive wall of windows lets in plenty of natural light in the master bedroom. Bamboo shades can easily be let down to darken the room if a mid-day nap is desired. A single French door leads outside to enjoy a bit of Mother Nature.
Jenny gave her master bathroom a recent makeover and the results are stunning! I love the feminine mirrors paired with a dark vanity and bowl sinks. The patterned rug lends elegance and softness underfoot.
