Wisconsin Lake Cabin Home Tour
Today we’re enjoying a tour of a Wisconsin lake cabin by Jessica Juelirer. You might remember the living room in this charming home when I wrote a post about cabin style decorating. This particular cabin seemed to be the most popular in that line-up.

Whitewashed wood creates a bright and airy interior – a great option for those who love wood but don’t like rooms that are too dark.

The kitchen retains rustic appeal in the Wisconsin lake cabin with an industrial-style kitchen island and an old-fashioned looking stove.

The dining room continues with whitewashed wood. White washing is simply the act of thinning paint with water so that a lighter, almost opaque coat is applied. My son’s bedroom ceiling has this type of treatment and I love the effect.

What do you think of the light fixture above the dining table?

A beautiful wood hutch plays off the white background nicely, while displaying favorite white dishes.

A cozy nook with an industrial light fixture creates quiet spot for reading.

A handy built-in cabinet provides great place for storage. The brown baskets keep smaller items gathered together and out of sight.

A beautiful bed takes center stage in the master bedroom. The creamy carpet is very similar to large throw rugs that I had in my first home. I wish I still had them but we left them behind when we sold the house.

A charming chair takes up residence in a corner of the bedroom next to a stenciled dresser.

An outdoor deck lets the homeowners enjoy the nature that surrounds their Wisconsin lake home.

That stove!!!!!!! Are you in Wisconsin Jennifer? My son attends college outside of Minneapolis and he has quite a few friends who are from Wisconsin! We need snow in Colorado!!! laura
Hi Laura! Isn’t that stove amazing? I’m in Illinois but I’ve been to Wisconsin many times – it’s just an hour away. I hope you get some snow in time for Christmas! We’re supposed to get a dusting this Friday, but the weather report keeps changing so we’ll see. Merry Christmas!
The hutch in the dining room is exactly the style for which I have been searching! Any suggestions for sources? I would be very appreciative. Thanks.
Hi Nancy!
You’ll find the hutch on the website of designer Jessica Jubelirer. Watch the rotating pictures on this page and you’ll see it: http://jubelirerdesign.com/furniture/ . She’s located in Wisconsin – her contact information is on this page: http://jubelirerdesign.com/contact/
It is a beautiful hutch, isn’t it?
It is a beautiful piece, but I keep wondering, what would you keep in those little drawers at the top?
Thanks, if i ever had a cabin this would be it.
Did you notice the Chintz dishes on the wall shelves in the dining room? Love that they mixed those with the “Industrial/Rustic” vibe of most of the home. Very interesting.
Hi Deb – I did not notice the Chintz dishes until you mentioned it. I was too busy checking out the light fixture in that room! 🙂
I absolutely love this and am surprised. I usually am not a fan of the “white” movement nor do I usually like pastels, but this whitewashed wood is the perfect foil for the darker wood pieces. The look is so innovative and such a lovely mixture of styles and colors. It’s all in the details is certainly correct…the wood rounds surrounding the entry, the reverse spindles on the stairway handrails, the details on the upholstered pieces that look pastel from a distance, but, on further inspection, are not, that rattan bed (swoon) and the stenciled chest and cute chair. Ms. Jubelirer has my vote!
I was never a fan of log cabins but this one is lovely and I could definitely imagine living there. I love the touches of rustic- just the right amount and the entire home just seems so very peaceful and comfy.
Just took the tour and I’m in love. Never was a fan of the traditional log cabin, but this is perfection. The white is so fresh. My grandfather was a very gifted, innovative architect though academically untrained. He built a Door County WI lakefront cabin in the 1930’s and the interior was largely comprised of white birch logs. Balconies, railings, staircase, etc. Although I never was privileged to see it, as it was sold long ago, it still stands beautifully. My mother told me of its creative uniqueness, especially for its time. My imagination runs wild with ideas if I only owned today.
