Friday Finds #17: Enjoy the Crisp Outdoors

friday finds September 25, 2020

Fall is officially here and that means so many things! It’s time to enjoy the riotous colors of the season by taking a long (or short) nature walk. Or maybe you prefer to venture to one of the many outdoor craft markets or farmer’s markets. It’s also a great time for one last getaway before it gets too cold.

Fall scene with red barn, hay bales, and pumpkins

Last weekend we went apple picking at Kuiper’s, our local u-pick orchard, and I was shocked at the number of people there. There were hundreds – possibly thousands by the end of the day. We went in the early morning right when they opened.

I have never seen the place so crowded and although most people wore masks, I was surprised there wasn’t a better system in place for crowd control. Part of me wishes I had turned around to go home but we had the whole family with us. So we social distanced as best as we could.

This was also the week for our yurt vacation but I’ll wait to share more on that experience next week when I share my photos from the trip! For now, I’ll share some of this week’s inspiration that I found.

My Friday Finds:

Speaking of getting away from it all, the Leo Cottage is a darling little vacation rental located in Union Pier, Michigan that I would love to rent for a girl’s weekend. It’s kind of expensive though, so I haven’t booked it – yet. It sure is cute!

If you go for walks to enjoy all the colors of the season, you might want to pick some of the grasses and wildflowers to make a beautiful foraged autumn arrangement.

Or you could escape to your backyard while the weather is mild by creating a cozy little hammock oasis.

Who loves brick floors? You’ll find some beautiful brick floor examples at Follow the Yellow Brick Home.

And finally, as we start to migrate back indoors, you might be inspired by these tips from Country Living magazine for decorating small spaces.

Until next Friday – enjoy your week and stay safe out there!
