Friday Finds #9: Small Towns and Outdoor Spaces

Things are getting crazy out there in the world! From the virus to protests to tear gas being used – you’d think it was the 1960s. I’m managing to find peace in nature and the outdoors – and finding beautiful things to share with you.

The past few weeks I’ve been running more on a nearby trail that’s 17 miles long. Sometimes I choose different spots so the scenery changes. I also started riding my bike again. I love riding down the country roads between all the cornfields and smelling the sweet fragrance.

I’m also trying to eat more raw foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads. I have to say, I feel more energetic now and I’m losing a little bit of weight that my body doesn’t need.

Enough of me, let’s get on with some of the inspiration I stumbled upon this past week.

Enjoy this week’s Friday Finds …

If you find you need a respite while at home, see This Old House’s tips for creating an outdoor staycation room.

I found this lovely post featuring some of the best small towns in America. Is yours on the list? I’ve visited three of the featured towns.

Fellow blogger Michael Wurm at Inspired by Charm found a beautiful old chest that he’s using as a sideboard in his dining room. I’m so jealous!!

You know, it’s not to late to keep planting in your garden. House and Garden shares great info for designing garden spaces.

Although no one in my family is getting married, I do enjoy looking at designer wedding photos. Bridal gowns are so beautiful and table settings can be truly inspiring for your home dining. Check out this late fall wedding from June Bug Weddings. It’s stunning!

Enjoy your weekend – and stop back tomorrow for Cozy Living Saturday!

  2. I sure know what you mean about things are so crazy right now..oh my! I pinned your small town list from Country Magazine in hopes that one day we can travel again. Maine was on my big list but their numbers are rising….so are ours here in Indiana…so no where is safe…except home so your blog is a happy place and it’s nice that you share your feelings as it makes me feel not so isolated.
