Handmade Style Christmas Ornaments

Bring a bit of nostalgia into your home this holiday with handmade style Christmas ornaments. I think for most of us, handmade ornaments remind us of our youth. We’d make ornaments in art class or at home with parents. Remember that sense of pride you felt hanging your handmade ornament on the tree? Earlier this summer I said I was going to make most of my ornaments this year. Sadly, that hasn’t happened. I signed up for an online craft class and still haven’t taken it yet. Luckily, Etsy has some great options that don’t break the bank. (This post contains affiliate links – see my privacy policy.)

The Nordic doll ornament above is what I envisioned making. I’d love to have a smaller tree filled with this type of Christmas decoration.

And if I could paint, I’d try my hand at making something like this collection of hand-painted farmhouse ornaments.

I’m especially drawn this year to felted ornaments, like these charming little felted acorns. Everything at VaidaPetreikis’ Etsy shop is just amazing! She even has felted slippers.

A set of festive wood slice ornaments would look pretty on the tree or used as gift wrapping decorations.

Stuffed fabric star ornaments are customized with embroidery. I like being from Etsy as a means to support artists and crafters from around the world.

  1. I love that Nordic doll and the Snow adventure buddies sets. I love anything made with felted wool. So cute. For some reason I’ve never been a fan of wooden ornaments. I still have a few beaded ornaments that I made when I was around 16 lol. Still use them too.

  2. Cute! I am a big fan of Etsy and am fond of home made ornaments. For my birthday my daughter made me black felt Scottie dog ornaments with red stitching and bell collars, just love them. (we had a sweet scottie some years ago) Hanging them today. The angels and mice are my favorites on your list, but all are sweet.
