How to make mild and creamy guacamole
I love when we collaborate in the kitchen to cook something together.

Hubby likes really hot and spicy food. Me … not so much.

So he agreed to let this batch of guacamole be mild (he added hot sauce to his own serving).

Mild and Creamy Guacamole

2 avocados
1/2 cup light sour cream
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1 small jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped
1/2 large tomato, seeded and diced
2 limes
salt and pepper to taste

Peel avocados and remove pits, and mash in a medium size bowl. Add sour cream and cumin, and mix until thoroughly blended. Stir in chopped jalapeno and tomato. Squeeze the juice of 2 limes into the mixture and add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator in airtight container. (Tip from Hubby: If you want spicier guacamole, don’t remove the seeds from the jalapeno pepper.)

  1. Jennifer, same here. When I was growing up, we knew of no such thing! In my later years at home, older teen/early 20’s, we purchased a container of “avocado dip” and I liked it. I didn’t have real guacamole until I started dating my husband (then boyfriend). His father is Hispanic and we often had fresh avocados mashed in their mocajete. I never ate the processed gunk again! I can eat my weight in guacamole. I love it! And VERY thankful that it’s good for us! Enjoy!
