Peaches, a Blue Kitchen, and the Groggy Anchor: Friday Finds

Welcome to the beginning of the weekend! I’m still coming down off my vacation high and have more photos of Kennebunkport and the surrounding areas to show you. You’ll love all the old homes. I’ll probably share some tomorrow. But for now, let’s get on with this week’s special finds.

I’m excited to share a tour of The Groggy Anchor’s home, which is an account I follow and love on Instagram. I was happy to find this home tour gem on Kelly Elko’s blog. I think you’ll love it as much as I do.

Normally I would save fireplace inspiration for the fall and winter, but I stumbled across this collection of pretty mantels and decided to share it now. I think my favorites are #1 and #10. Which do you like best?

Want to turn a plain lampshade into something pretty? Check out Molly’s tutorial for creating an easy, faux pleated lampshade. It’s an easy way to add color and pattern to any room.

Do you love Farrow & Ball paint colors? See how to use their most popular paint colors in any room.

The past couple of summers I’ve really struggled to find good peaches. They’re hard in the store or farm market, and within a day or two turn super mushy and rotten. Not to mention, the flavor isn’t very appealing. So when I came across The Peach Truck, I decided it was worth the expense to have fresh peaches shipped directly to my doorstep. And let me tell you – these peaches do not disappoint! Perfectly ripe, juicy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Ordering them is more expensive than buying peaches in the store, but it’s worth every penny because no peaches go to waste. I’m eating one right now as I write this blog post. And if you decide to order some, be sure to make my favorite peach cobbler recipe.

And finally, we’ll end today’s Friday Finds with a beautiful blue kitchen that’s filled with charming details.

  1. Dear Jennifer,
so many wonderful things to admire and get inspired! I will try your peach cobbler recipe in this weekend.
Thank you for all your hard work, this post is a keeper!

  2. So so happy you highlighted @thegroggyanchor, as it is one of my favorites, too. As a person brought up in Massachusetts, I believe your statement that Ptown was the landing spot for the pilgrims stepping off the Mayflower. It was Plymouth, Massachusetts where they landed. There’s even a giant rock incased in a shrine of sorts where they first set foot. Anyway, I know your attention to detail and thought I should let you know, That all being said, thanks again for your mini tours of interesting places and homes.

  3. I loved that cottage and all they did. I liked mantle no. 4 the best, I liked that you could sit on it and get warm. I have been wanting to try to pleat a shade, they are so pretty. Thanks for these and have a great day.
