Friday Finds #25: Be Thankful

Next week is Thanksgiving. Many of us are struggling with not being able to see family or enjoy the holiday like we normally do. Sometimes adverse situations cause us to dig a little deeper in our soul to find meaning and joy in life.

Thanksgiving Dinner Place Setting with Pumpkin Pie

This is the first Thanksgiving in a long time that I won’t be hosting dinner for my family. Hubby and I have decided to hunker down and enjoy a peaceful holiday together. The good news is – he wants to cook a turkey. It’s always been me but I fully welcome his newfound enthusiasm.

We have a baby that’s due in our family on November 25th and since I’ve always attended the birth of my daughter Bridget’s children, I feel it best to stay home as much as possible. Who knows? Baby Cove could arrive on Thanksgiving Day and hubby will be home alone eating turkey.

I’ll do something to make the day special for all of my kids – I just haven’t decided what that looks like yet. In the meantime, I’ll thank God for all the good things in life like having a roof over our heads, children that I love, the beauty of His earth, and so much more!

With those warm fuzzies in mind, let me show you this week’s Friday Finds!

First up is this adorable Finnish log cabin that will make you want to squirrel away in it for a relaxing few days!

Here’s an easy paper ornament project for Christmas. The example uses wallpaper scraps but you could substitute patterned scrapbooking paper.

Or how about making some Christmas-scented salt dough ornaments? I think I have to give these a try!

You don’t want to miss this Christmas sunroom from fellow blogger Jen at Noting Grace. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Would it be rude to invite myself over for the holiday?

Does the cooler weather have you in the mood for baking? Try my Winter Mint Cake with Ombre Frosting. It looks festive and is perfect for the holidays.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday, regardless of how you choose to spend it! And keep your fingers crossed that Bridget’s baby doesn’t decide to greet the world in the middle of the night so I don’t miss any sleep!

Staying home as well this Thanksgiving. Hope your daughter has an easy birth. I am a Thanksgiving baby myself. The only downside is that pumpkin pie was the forever birthday cake and my gifts were tied up into the Christmas season..Lol! All in all a nice way to spend a birthday. Be safe and have a wonderful holiday.
