Vintage Style Christmas Vignette

Christmas November 3, 2014

Why does Christmas feel so magical when you get out the decorations and turn your house into some “other world” filled with sparkle and charm? Christmas allows you to bring a little fantasy in your home, and the mood I like to create is a vintage style Christmas that evokes holidays gone past.

DIY Christmas Decor - Vintage Style Santa and SnowmanA vintage style Santa wears neutral colors instead of red and green.

A bottle brush type wreath serves as a backdrop for my vintage style Christmas vignette.

DIY Christmas Decor - Vintage Style SnowmanAn angelic snowman with rosy cheeks is charming and sweet.

I love this type of Christmas figurine.

DIY Christmas Decor - a glittery star and vintage ornamentsA glittery star and vintage glass ornaments await their day to trim the tree.

Which will be sooner rather than later this year.

Vintage Style Christmas VignetteNormally I put the tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving.

But this year the tree will be up and glowing for my family’s Thanksgiving dinner.

Christmas Decorations - Vintage Style Christmas SantaI’m on the hunt for more of these figurines … with a reasonable price tag.

Christmas Decorating - Vintage Style Cloche OrnamentA cloche ornament holds a glittery putz house.

I wish I had the patience to make some of these little houses. They’re so pretty.

Vintage Christmas Glass OrnamentSigh. My favorite. Vintage glass ornaments. I think I have a bit of an addiction to these.

Vintage Style Christmas VignetteI’m anxious to get all the decorations up in case you couldn’t tell.

I’m also anxious to reveal the winner of the Creatively Christmas book giveaway!

DIY Christmas Decor - Vintage Style Santa and SnowmanIf you didn’t win, don’t despair. I’ve decided to give away a second book!

I had such a great response to the give away I’ll be doing it again soon.

Shabby Chic Style Vintage Christmas VignetteToday’s winner of an autographed copy of  Creatively Christmas is …

Becky Weber!!  Congratulations Becky, I sent you an email to let you know.

For those of you who tried ordering the book earlier, it’s now in stock so don’t delay!

You can purchase the book on Amazon:

    Jennifer,
I just ordered the book…. cant wait!! For the past several years, I have used more neutral and non-traditional colors such as aqua in my Christmas décor. This year I found the cutest lumbar pillows from Pottery Barn (Colin plaid) that has red, white, black, grey and green in the material so I will be switching things up using more of these colors in my décor.

Thanks Maryjo! I’m actually thinking of adding in some red this year. I don’t know … it will depend on what kind of mood I’m in. 😉

Congrats to Becky! Love your decorations, Jennifer! I love this style, too. I am thinking about getting a couple of those Putz houses; the question is will they already be done up or do I try to do a couple myself. : )

Even though Amazon is saying the book is out of stock, you should still have it by Thanksgiving. I got that information straight from the author who says they just ordered a reprint of the book because it sold so quickly.
