Wallpaper, Home and Garden Tours, and More: Friday Finds #89
Hello friends and Happy April Fool’s Day! Are you ready for another roundup of Friday Finds? It’s always fun to stumble across inspirational finds from the comfort of your home. Especially when the weather’s been lousy this week. It’s somewhat de-stressing to curl up with a magazine or the internet to find beauty in indoor and outdoor spaces. Enjoy this week’s collection!
I want to start today’s finds with this charming antique bookcase that Liz Marie added to her kitchen. What a clever way to use a vintage piece of furniture!
Next up is this gorgeous low country Southern home complete with house plans you can buy. Even if you’re not in the market for a house, it’s inspiring to see the photos.
Recently I gave my bedroom a makeover and I’ve been on the hunt for a smaller quilt to fold at the foot of my bed. It’s been tough finding something I like that doesn’t cost over $200. Just yesterday I came across this Etsy quilt seller that has several options. It’s going to be hard to choose one.
Wallpaper is definitely back in fashion! You see it almost everywhere now, and I’m quite certain at least one of my bathrooms, if not both, will get a wallpaper treatment this year. Farrow & Ball shares a pretty home featuring their wallpapers.
In case you missed it, I shared a beautiful English cottage garden tour on my other blog, Pond and Garden this week.
What do you think of this list of suggested outdated decorating trends to ditch? Do you agree with the line-up?
Need a pretty dessert for Easter? These no-bake mini blackberry cheesecakes look awfully tempting to me. I might have to make them this weekend.
I hope you’ll come back tomorrow. I’m going to show my bedroom makeover. I’m loving the new look!
I really really love that scalloped bookcase in the kitchen, I would totally do that, so now I have to try and find one! Never enough cookbook storage around here. Also so tempted to wallpaper our powder room, but it will probably take six months to think about it. Wallpaper is a big commitment in my mind. The vintage look of the Farrow and Ball papers are appealing. Those little blackberry cheesecakes look fabulous and not hard to make vegan, so will be trying. We are fond of blackberries here. I have to agree with the “outdated” list, for the most part. Still, if any of these are loved, then I say keep what makes you happy.
My favorite today is the English cottage garden tour. I just signed up for you new blog!
Those cheese cakes look so good. That cute bookcase idea, cottage gardens and I never pay too much attention to trends out or in.
Cannot open the Farrow & Ball site. Anyone know why this happens occasionally?
Hi Teddee! I’m sorry about that – I’m not sure what’s happening. It opens for me every time.
Out dated decorating trends? Doillies! Please country and foo foo loving decorators, ditch the doillies! At least the heavy crocheted, dollar store look ones. I’m still talking some of my friends to ditch them. Elegant, antique stitched ones will ALWAYS be appreciated and in style. Kinda like blue and white chinoiserie. IMHO 🙂
Another really good post!
I signed up for you Pond & Garden site and got a confirmation for “Restored 316” website. I tried several times and the confirmation kept coming up for the other website/blog.
Hi Susan, thanks for letting me know about that. I’m not sure what’s going on. Restored 316 designed my blog so I’ll reach out to them.
I just can’t commit to wallpaper. I know it’s made a come back but it is a lot of work to remove and change if I ever get tired of the pattern, which there will be that day. Been there and done that…no thank you:0) I love paint, wood treatments, brick or stucco even maybe some grass cloth..maybe. I’ll enjoy the look from afar.
